"We had a wonderful stay at Ruthie’s Fun in the Sun. The kids had a blast swimming in the Lake. While the steps heading down (and back) from the beach were daunting at first, we got used to it. The main thing that made our trip so wonderful was staying at Ruthie’s Fun in the Sun. The cottage was welcoming, and enjoyable to just hang out in. The screened in porch was like being in a treehouse. We truly felt at home. Well, actually better than home. There were many spaces that had appeal and charm. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and anything you would need to cook. We all enjoyed meeting the owner.

I think Ruthie’s cottage is the lovliest place you can find in years. It has a lake, outdoor shower, a big house, and a nice relaxing room. I liked the leather couch. I liked the kitchen. It has a beach. And when i stayed there, i felt like i was on vacation because i was. Stay at Ruthie’s cottage.

I loved the beach, and the house was very great.I loved the house. I wish it was my house. My favorite room was the upstairs room. The outdoor shower was great, i never took a shower outdoors. The woman had a great game called shuffleboard. The rules were you had little things with sand on a board, and there’s numbers on each side, and you have to get on one two or three.

"We loved our stay at Sweet Sara's! We were renting the house for the week of our daughter's wedding in St. Joe. The location was great, quiet, beautiful beach area nearby and lovely home. Spacious enough for 6 bridesmaids with 3 makeup/hair dressers to easily get ready before the wedding! Comfortable, beautifully decorated, and the bedrooms were perfect for our group. Children's bedrooms were so cute! The front porch swing was so relaxing! Thank you Patti, for sharing your lovely home!"

"Our family spend the Christmas of 2014 at the cottage and had a wonderful time. The kitchen is wonderful with everything you could need to cook for your family. The furniture is very comfortable, and there are plenty of towels and blankets. We had a great time together and hope to return this summer."

"The good: 1) the condo is in great condition--new interior, great deck, well-stocked kitchen, 3 TVs; 2) beach is exquisite -- private, clean, great sand, water not as cold as expected; 3) very responsive owner, usually returning emails within the hour and calls within 5 minutes; 3) lots to do in area -- visit St. Josephs, visit wineries, and pick fresh fruit (we did cherries and raspberries). Whole family (two adults plus four kids) had a great time. The not-so-good: 1) there are some rundown properties near the condo which give you an "uh-oh" feeling when you first arrive (which is soon dispelled when you see the condo interior and beach); 2) the walk to the beach is surprisingly steep and unsuitable for the handicapped or elderly (wasn't a problem for us); 3) informed by owner that we are being charged additionally for leaving several items in refrigerator and for leaving hand-washed dishes to dry in the drying rack. Rationale was this increased the cleaning costs. After paying a $95 dollar cleaning fee already this seems excessive. Still waiting to see what the fee ends up being and when the rest of the deposit will be returned. This item alone bumps review to 4 stars from 5."
