"Our family, including children and grandchildren, stayed at Shugar Shack. We had a 2 yr. old and an 8 yr. old. Todd, the owner, emailed and called me after I inquired about his cabin. The cabin was very much like it was shown on the website, as well as the information Todd gave me over the phone. It was clean and well maintained, as well as stocked with plenty of all that we needed. Having a dishwasher, washer and dryer were nice. The only kitchen item that we wished we had was a griddle for pancakes :) The weather turned cooler mid-week and several of the family enjoyed the hot tub. Both porches were very inviting for morning coffee or to get away from the TV to read a book. However, the theater system and pool table in the basement were great for the younger ones. Walking to Goshorn Lake was so convenient - for our kayaks, fishing, or laying in the sun. We did the Dune Ride, easy walk, the Star of Saugatuck boat ride, and because it was cooler part of the week, we went to the shops downtown. Downtown was busy! We ate at the Coral Gables on the patio, and also at Phil's. Be sure to visit Oval Beach, a short ride to Lake Michigan. We did some hiking/running at Dunes State Park - very nice! We had hoped to get back there again, but ran out of days! With two runners in our group, it was very nice having a paved trail nearby. We wished we had brought our bikes!
The only thing we realized by staying in a log cabin, was that you can hear kids from all rooms :) Over-all we had a great stay and have some photos that will be memories for years to come."
