  • Fun cottage and great vacation spot

"We were pleasantly surprised to find Fishbone Cottage and New Buffalo to be much more than expected. The cottage was larger than the pictures show and beautifully decorated and very clean, with lots of fun touches. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning units, one in the main living rom and one in the master bedroom at the rear of the house, provided plenty of cooling for the entire house. The deck and back yard were great for our dog and to use Fishbone's bocce ball and croquet sets. The kitchen was well-equipped. We used the 2 adult bikes provided to go to town and to the nearby park. Downtown New Buffalo is a short walk from the cottage. There are several restaurants, ice cream shops, retail stores, a grocery, and pharmacy. The public beach is just beyond the center of downtown accessible by bike/car or a 10-15 minute walk. We took short trips to neighboring towns for antiquing; nearby Galien River for fishing and kayaking; Captain Mike's fun park for miniature golf, go karts, and batting cages; and to Warren Dunes and Grand Mere beach parks for great hikes through the magnificent dunes. All around we had a great time with lots to do and would highly recommend Fishbone."

  • South Heaven

"The condo has everything you need to feel at home. The newly renovated bathroom is amazing. Nancy (the owner) is gracious to work with. We will definitely return as often as we can afford to. The residents of the condo are friendly as well."

  • Summer family time

"Booked this property in late July for my family and my self. The twin city area books up very fast and we were lucky to find this great spot in Downtown Benton Harbor. The property was verry clean, verry safe and the owner was verry friendly. It is not in Saint Joseph but it is a 5 min drive to Sliver Beach and Jean Clark Park Beach. Do not be put off by the apperence of some still needed work of downtown. I used to live in the area, it is safe, people are nice. Coffee, gelatto, resturants and an awsome brewery are within a few blocks. We had an incredible time and the pics are true to the actual property. I would recomend this property to anyone. It is a second level so steps are involved but we had no issues."

  • Great place to spend time with family!

"We spent a fabulous week on the lake! We had 2 families with kids (age 11-14). The house was clean and had plenty of room for everyone. The listing was accurate and owners were very helpful and friendly. The large deck had more than enough space to socialize, the waterfront area was wonderful, there was a fire pit on the property and a woods where you can find plenty of wood to burn, there's lots of yard space to play lawn games (all available at the house), there's 2 kayaks, a rowboat and a canoe available to use, and the downstairs pool table and dart board were a big hit. We rented a boat (and a stand-up paddle board) and had it delivered--the lake is quite small, but just big enough to pull the kids on the tube. Also, because the lake is small and not busy, we were very comfortable letting the kids explore in the kayaks--as long as they had lifejackets! There is really something for everyone at this lakehouse--highly recommend!"
