  • Nice cottage

"Quiet neighborhood with 5min. walk to public beach. Lovely screened porch. Well-stocked kitchen supplies. Decor is dated & needs painting."

  • Great neighborhood. Walk downtown!

"We stayed over the weekend for a wedding we attended in town. I chose the home based on it's proximity to town, the fact that it was pet-friendly, had two bathrooms (one of us and one for the in-laws) and had great reviews. I was not disappointed. The home is in a quiet, well-kept neighborhood that was enjoyabole to walk our baby and dog through. We were also able to easily walk to town for the wedding festivities (or anything else in town - restaurants, shopping, entertainment). The home is in great condition and a good representation of the photos provided online. All major essentials are there (coffee maker, towels, linens, an iron and board - even doggie treats and doggie bags!) and the bed was very comfortable. I believe it was a Sleep Number bed but we didn't even mess with the settings. The owner was also very pleasant/professional and responded quickly to any inquiries I had (pre- and post-reservation). The only thing I'm unsure of is how close a major grocery store is for an extended stay. We traveled from Ann Arbor so we brought food with us. There are plenty of restaurants though and a small market in town that we grabbed a few things at. Also, you would need to drive to certain destinations (the beach, other nearby towns like Douglas or Holland, Saugatuck Brewing Co.!) but that was not a draw back to me. Bottom line, we would definitely stay again!"

  • Appreciation of truly wheelchair friendly house

"There are many fine things to be said about the Lake House. However, for our family the first and most important fact is that it is one of the few truly wheelchair accessible houses in the region. The owner put a lot of thought into making sure that the house "flowed" in manner that allowed our wheelchair bound family member to easily be a part of all of our activities. The second most valuable asset is the owner's availability and prompt response to all emails and inquiries. He even called and sent extra pictures in response to questions about the handicapped bathroom and whether it would work for us. Finally, there are the house features that everyone appreciates -- the large, well equipped kitchen, the dining room table that is large enough to seat everyone comfortably, the covered deck, the well equipped game room, and the quiet nooks and crannies. THIS IS DEFINITELY EVERYTHING THE DESCRIPTION SAYS IT IS AND MORE."
