  • Epic Adventure Week 7

"The Finnish Farm was fantastic. Don was so nice. Just an incredible and beautiful property with a natural setting and location. We used the property for base camp for touring the area but ended up spending most of the week at the property relaxing with Lake Superior, nature and all the trimmings of Finnish comfort. The house, outbuildings and yard are peaceful, serene, natural, majestic, very pretty and very comfortable in all regards. The vistas are breathtaking. We thoroughly enjoyed the modern, clean, fresh, comfortable, well appointed main house with all the amenities needed at hand. We cooked gourmet meals daily. Bon fires at the pit daily. Daily Finnish sauna was heavenly. The views of Lake Superior, eagles, hummingbirds, sky, stars, sunrises, trees, rocks, cliffs, crashing surf, mountains and clouds were just incredibly fantastic. We had so much fun with each of the out buildings. The cliff overlook screen porch and deck, the marvelous studio building and deck, the bedroom bay windows, the living room windows and the yard fire pit area were each so much fun for relaxing and viewing nature. We could have spent the whole week in the studio just staring at Lake Superior, the bluffs, the surf, trees, boats and the eagles through the telescope and enjoying the comfort of this nicely appointed building and its windows. The library in the house is immense and well varied. Sleeping to the sound of Lake Superior is phenomenal. We will go back."

  • Keweenaw Paradise

"Thank you for allowing us the use of Loot’s Lodge again. We were gifted with unbelievably splendid weather, especially for this time of year. Full sunshine every day, mid 70s to I think even an 80 one day. We never used a drop of bug repellant! I think Friday we noticed a very few nats and a fly or two that did not bother us so I am sure we were on the edge of all the insects emerging. We packed so much cold weather and rain gear and never used it. We very much enjoy the property and location! My wife and I are significant sauna enthusiast and the wood fired sauna at the edge of the lake for post sauna dips is a real treat. This year we dipped in the lake as small mini icebergs passed us by on their way to the South."

  • Comfortable Family Home

"My husband and four adult children/spouses spent a relaxing week in this beautifully decorated family home on a large lake. There is a dock and a small bit of beach that are perfect for enjoying the water on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Within an hour's drive of Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, Taquhemmonen (sp) Falls...it is a great base to explore the area. We rented a pontoon boat for a couple of days and enjoyed hours on the lake. The home is clean and comfortable - not fancy or stuffy. There was no air conditioning which wasn't a problem during our stay - and likely isn't often on the UP - but plan accordingly. The owner was very helpful with great driving directions (it is off the beaten path - a plus!) and a notebook with lots of information on the area. A great value - we would definitely return!"

  • Wildernest Chalet

"Our vacation to the Wildernest was fabulous. The place was very neat and clean. The pictures do not due it justice. The views from the living room are beautiful. Our kids really enjoyed playing outside, besides the great location to the ski hills. The owner was great at making sure everything was perfect for our stay. We stayed in the upper unit with another family; the layout was perfect, plenty of space. What a nice get away. We will be back. Thank you!"
