"We wanted to have lots of snow to enjoy winter activities such as xc-/ and downhill skiing. And we truly experienced it. Knowing the Keweenaw area from a previous xc- ski race in March (The Great Bear Chase) we assumed that this area must receive a lot of snow in the winter. It felt nice and cozy in our cabin and we had plenty of space to play, eat and relax with our family of 5 especially when the temperatures were really low and the wind chill not so inviting to go outside. We loved the Sauna and tranquility of the area, away from the bigger towns like Calumet or Houghton. We also enjoyed the winter view of Lake Superior and the build-up ice on the shore. Our teenager is dreaming of going snowmobiling up there and starting right outside on the trails of the vacation home. That would actually be very lovely. Skiing is as excellent as it can get in the Midwest with the highest mountain Bohemia (900 ft.). They do not groom and if there is fresh powder snow like we experienced it, the downhill skiing is great for advanced and expert skiers. There are many trails throughout the area for xc- skiing (classic and skating) as well as snowshoeing. However, the best xc- skiing for us was in Swedetown/ Calumet with their great sledding hill and a 1 km "Cookie-trail" loop for our younger xc-skiers.
Thank you for the reliable and easy communication and sharing your property with us. We loved it!"

"We stayed at the Retreat last July with another family. We had 4 adults and 4 young children all 6 years and younger. The home was very spacious and had everything we needed for the week. If you do bring really small children, I recommend bringing a couple of safety gates to block off both staircases. The only downfall to our week was that the weather was unseasonably cool and rainy for more than half of our trip. We weren't able to enjoy the water or do any swimming. But that is how mother nature works sometimes:) There really isn't a whole lot to do on Drummond when the weather is bad but we were able to keep the kids occupied with movies. We were thankful for the dvd player included with the home. (We had brought the dvds with us) We did however, LOVE having the hot tub to warm up in during the day and after the kids had gone to bed. The upper level deck is beautiful and very relaxing to sit on. This was our first trip to Drummond Island and we'd like to return again in the future. I'd definitely stay at the Retreat again! The owner was a very pleasant and honest person to work with. Thank you so much!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Clinton Cottage. The location to both town and the beach is ideal. Its close enough to walk to town yet far enough away from the main traffic routes to provide a nice quiet get away.
The cottage itself is very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed our leisurely mornings around the kitchen and back deck and our evenings in the front room and porch.
Marlene was very helpful and accommodating. We felt at home and relaxed form the moment we arrived."
