  • Perfect Family Getaway!

"This was our first time to the East Lake Retreat and we had a wonderful experience. We found the rental online and had never taken this approach for housing for a vacation in the past. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and found everything to be in perfect order. We were even more shocked that any and all necessities and amenities were on hand (from rafts for the lake, to a fantastic fire pit to even silverware and cooking utensils). The inside of the home was gorgeous and the view of the lake was equally as wonderful. The fishing was good and there were many nearby activities to keep us busy. Barb was great to work with as we planned the details of our trip and made sure everything was perfectly in line for our arrival. Our family made many great memories and we highly recommend this rental for anyone else looking for a relaxing getaway."

  • Great Place! Great Location!

"I met my Dad and Brother at this vacation rental for a long weekend of fishing. The place was easy to find and very close to the Marina/Bait Shop/Pub/Gas Station. There is plenty of room to park numerous vehicles and trailers. The place was very well kept and fully stocked with the essentials (TP, paper towels, clean sheets and towels, cooking supplies, etc...). All of the utilities were in good working condition. The place has a lot of really cool decorations and is very comfortable. The Cedar River is directly across the road (CR 551). There is also a secluded state park/campground about 5.5 miles up the river. My Dad and I dumped the canoe in at the campground and paddled/fished back to the house. This is a great place to visit/stay if you are looking for serenity and tranquility. The surrounding area is also a great fishery (Salmon, Walleye, Bass, and Pike). The owner made the renting experience very simple and easy. I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely return for another stay!"

  • Great times at a good place.

"We rented the whole house for a week of snowmobiling and skiing. House is very modern and spacious. The upper and lower units ARE NOT connected from the inside so you must go outside to go between units. Not a big deal but just be aware of it. Bedrooms are nice size and have comfortable beds. 3 full bathrooms are large and very nice. House is warm and cozy. Good parking- fit my truck and 29' trailer. Walking distance to Indian Head ski lodge which has a bar and restaurant. There is also a pool and sauna at the lodge that you can use for a small fee (except Saturdays). Snowmobile trail is very close by so no need to trailer anywhere. Joe has plenty of fire wood on hand so you can kick back and enjoy a warm fire while watching the big screen TV. Wi-Fi is nice if you bring your computer like we always do. Plenty of great bars and restaurants are close by if your group wants to go out. Joe is a great guy and is easy to work with. We would gladly come back to his place again."

  • Comfortable Family Home

"My husband and four adult children/spouses spent a relaxing week in this beautifully decorated family home on a large lake. There is a dock and a small bit of beach that are perfect for enjoying the water on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Within an hour's drive of Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, Taquhemmonen (sp) Falls...it is a great base to explore the area. We rented a pontoon boat for a couple of days and enjoyed hours on the lake. The home is clean and comfortable - not fancy or stuffy. There was no air conditioning which wasn't a problem during our stay - and likely isn't often on the UP - but plan accordingly. The owner was very helpful with great driving directions (it is off the beaten path - a plus!) and a notebook with lots of information on the area. A great value - we would definitely return!"
