  • Low Tech/High Relaxation

"My husband, daughter, son-in-law and I spent a totally relaxing week in this roomy vacation home located off the beaten path on Farmers Lake. It is the perfect getaway from the rush and frenzy of the real world. You can fish right from the dock or take the fishing boat out to catch walleye, northern pike and bass. Enjoy the sauna or relax in the screened-in free-standing "porch". There is a full service grocery store and pharmacy five minutes away if you need them. The charming town of Marquette, located on Lake Superior, is a half an hour away and offers restaurants, shops, a Nautical Museum and a Lighthouse Tour. If you're looking to unwind and get away from it all this is definitely the place for you!"

  • A perfect place for solitude and serenity!

"My wife and I found the pefect spot for the solitude we were seeking. Being the very end of the season we were quite alone on the shores of Lake Superior and completely enjoyed the varied weather and many moods of the wonderful powerful lake. The eagles would fly by almost once a day and we so enjoyed walking the shoreline and just sitting on the cliff swing with a cup of coffee. It was nice to have a town within about a 10 minute drive for groceries and we greatly enjoyed two shops that had many old books. Though only home for a day we miss our peaceful get away!"

  • Fun winter family gathering

"Great place to gather as a family and enjoy a wintry weekend together. View of the lake was beautiful. Cabin was toasty warm and we were fortunate to have mild weather to play outside. Went snow shoeing on the trails across the road from the cabin, and out onto the lake. Small kids (and adults) enjoyed sledding/tubing along the side of the house. Kitchen is well equipped for basic cooking, and the layout of the cabin works well for a group gathering with small children. Setting is very peaceful and quiet. Walked out onto the lake after dark and had a great view of the winter night sky! Owner very responsive to questions and came to check on us as we arrived. Hope to be back again before too long."

  • Perfect Winter Getaway!

"My boyfriend and I just returned from the most tranquil and peaceful stay at the Grizzly Den and will definitely return! The cabin is in the most beautiful and remote setting along the Trout river with miles of snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing trails! Even in the dead of winter we were toasty warm and cozy inside the cabin. It has everything you need! We had hot water, lights, gas stove, and the gas fireplace was sooo cozy and perfect. Not having internet or a TV was a huge plus as there is so much to do and it is SO unbelievably refreshing to get away from the chaos of life back home. We brought books and games but found we were active outdoors the entire time and just wanted to cuddle up in front of the fireplace with hot cocoa and some homecooked meals when not active. It was so relaxing! Steve and Deb had all the dishes inside that we would have needed. They even had a gift basket waiting for us when we arrived! They also have a selection of games in case you didn't think to bring your own. Additionally, Steve and Deb were SO warm and inviting. The gift basket upon our arrival was a great touch, and Steve was so friendly and happy to take us by snowmobile to the cabin upon our arrival. He made it very clear that he would be available if we had ANY questions or needed anything at all, but the cabin was so perfect that we didn't need a thing. We are already making plans to come back here in the summer and next winter again. It is seriously the perfect relaxing getaway! Just what everyone needs to relax and bring life back to basics. Just beautiful and great to rent from such wonderful people."
