  • Amazing Place

"Our family spent the week of Christmas 2014 at this great get away, the snow was plentiful to get a few days of snowmobiling in and the view was grand. I will say some of the pics don't do this home justice, It is a lot better in person than just looking on the internet. We spent a lot of time playing pool, cards at the poker table, and of course toasting with Christmas cheer. I hope to return again in the coming years to enjoy the U.P. in all it's grandness and beauty."

  • Great views, excellent location, comfortable

"Lovely views of the pond and the big lake from the living, dining and kitchen area. Clean comfortable furniture, not pictured is outdoor table chairs on the deck, we spent much time there. We are seniors, had no problem rowing across the pond, walking to the beach. It would be difficult for those who are not active or disabled. The beach is very private. We saw a bald eagle sitting on driftwood. Just 2 of us, the king bed was great, liked the adjoining half bath. Suggestions for guests, bring dish towels and dish clothes and a box fan or 2. The ceiling fans are nice but we needed more. I hope the owers read this and leave a box fan in a closet. They have plenty of bath towels. Kitchen is well supplied with pots, pans, dinnerware, silverware, utensils. If need spices, flour, sugar, bring along, there is salt, pepper. Don't forget coffee and toilet paper! I liked finding the refrig and bathrooms were free of remnants from other guests. There is a very close by neighbor to the West, no one was home. A realtor showed that house while we were there. This neighboring house has a birds eye view of the deck and west side of house. Total privacy is something crave when in Grand Marais, the house was a great fit for us, we will return and take our chances."

  • Awesome, Relaxing Getaway!

"We wanted to escape and enjoy the fall colors...what a great place to do just that! Far enough from the city that you feel you've made your escape, but not too far of a drive to town to enjoy restaurants, shopping, a movie, etc. In addition to that it seems there is plenty to do in the area. If you like the water, it looks like a great place to enjoy boating of any kind, and there are boat launches & marinas nearby. We also saw ATV & snowmobile trails, and though we don't hunt I imagine there are some great places to do so. The wildlife is everywhere! We also took a trip to the very picturesque Door County peninsula for a wine tasting adventure and a fish boil which is a local tradition. In addition to the wineries, there are many quaint harbor towns loaded with little shops and places to eat. It was the highlight of our trip, we highly recommend it! The cottage itself was immaculate, nicely updated, and furnished with everything we needed. Just add food and drink and you're all set. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. There's a nice beach with a fire pit, plus the cottage has a huge deck, and both are perfect spots to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Lake Michigan and the stars at night! We WILL be back!!!"

  • Relaxing!

"This was the perfect location and time of year for a long overdue family decompression! Even though the fishing wasn't that stellar the different wildlife and most awesome fall colors more than made up for that! We would like to thank Jim and his family for sharing their lake house with us. We saw a flock of wild turkeys wander through the front yard. A wolf and black bear, deer, the 2 loons and most adorable lake otter who was a ham! We came back refreshed and with many colorful photos! We are very grateful!"
