"My wife and I found the pefect spot for the solitude we were seeking. Being the very end of the season we were quite alone on the shores of Lake Superior and completely enjoyed the varied weather and many moods of the wonderful powerful lake. The eagles would fly by almost once a day and we so enjoyed walking the shoreline and just sitting on the cliff swing with a cup of coffee. It was nice to have a town within about a 10 minute drive for groceries and we greatly enjoyed two shops that had many old books. Though only home for a day we miss our peaceful get away!"

"My husband and our two dogs had a great time at the cabin. We wanted something deep in the woods, private, rustic, with lake access and we got what we asked for. The cabin is small but has everything you need. Be sure to bring DVD's with you as there are none at the cabin, but there were some games and coloring books as well. We really liked how the house is set well off the main road, so sitting on the deck you felt completely private from the rest of the folks on the lake. Bring lots of bug spray with you as the mosquitoes come out in force around 5pm, but our nightly fire in the fire pit helped keep them away.
Note, most all cell carriers do not get service at the cabin, and there's no landline in the cabin. I could see this being kind of scary if you have small kids and there's no way to call in an emergency.
Regarding the lake access, it's a short walk to the dock, but it's not the kind of dock others have on the lake. The water is very shallow and full of water lilies, so there's no swimming or fishing from the dock. If it's not too windy we suggest you do what we did and take the canoe across to the other side of the lake on the point, dock the canoe and fish and swim there. It was a fun little private place to hang. And if it's too windy, head to the public boat launch. We waded in to our waists in the warm water and fished from the launch and caught blue gill, pike, bass and some sunfish. Nice little spot.
Great vacation spot for sticking close to the lake, but also a nice central location for people looking to drive to places like the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore as well. Great little getaway!"

"We LOVED our time at Stonehaven and Amy was wonderful to work with in helping to plan our vacation to Drummond Island! This was our first trip to the Island, so we were not sure what to expect. It was a wonderful surprise, that when we met someone at the ferry station and showed them on the map where we were staying, her response was... "you are at the best location on the Island" When we pulled in and saw the unbelievable view and the protective little cove of the lake, we knew what she meant! The house felt like a HOME, not just another rental. It is clean and comfy... and there is a view of the water from nearly every window in the home! We spent the majority of our time outside by the fire pit and on the dock.. taking in the sun and the beauty!! There are wonderful stone sculpture stackings all over the property, that Amy's brother creates.. what a cool touch! Our kids were able to put up hammocks and even slept in a tent one night as the property has lots of space and trees!!! We enjoyed several hiking adventures on the island and we had our favorite day renting a pontoon boat and visiting Harbor Island! This is a perfect place to relax, connect with your family or friends and get out of the rat race!!! We will most certainly be back to Stonehaven on our next trip to Drummond!"

"We are from the area and come home often, yet staying at the cabin made this trip home seem like a new adventure! It is easy to get to, welcoming, open and spacious, yet cozy and intimate! We absolutely would rent again! Fully stocked so you don't have pack any extras!
Explore the U.P. from this little piece of heaven on earth!"
