"The lodge was more than we could have hoped for. My wife could not get over how much more beautiful it was than the pictures had depicted and everything we could have needed was provided. We chose the North Lodge because of the lack of WiFi and sparse Cell service in the area. We were able to spend more quality time with our teens than we have been able to in a long time. We played several of the games provided, rented Blu-ray family movies, went for bike rides as well as had bonfires in the firepit. The location is great for anyone looking to visit many of the Eastern UP sites and attractions. The Moose du Nord was only a two minute drive and serves tasty baked good, hand dipped ice cream, and flavored coffees as well as sells many everyday necessities. The IGA in Newberry was only 20 minutes away and was the best priced grocery store with everything you could need. And if you like to fish, the North Lodge is minutes from three lakes that we enjoyed fishing in. We caught everything from Blue Gill to Pike and did so from a dock -- next time we are going to bring the boat and spend more time on the lakes. We cannot wait to get back up there and enjoy everything there was to offer both in the lodge and around it."

"This cabin is just perfect! Perfect location on Manistique Lake and perfect for sightseeing the Pictured Rocks National Shoreline, Tahquamenon Falls State Park, Seney National Wildlife Refuge, Manistique, Munising, Grand Marais, Mackinac Island, and more! We did all of this in our week at the Trailwind Lodge and even after a long day of hiking or biking, we had this perfectly furnished, comfortable, cozy cabin to return to relax and make dinner. I loved sitting at the dining room table and looking out at the boat and dock on Manistique Lake. We never did find time to take that boat out onto the lake with all of the sightseeing we did elsewhere. This cabin would be the perfect place to stay a whole week and just read and relax without venturing out to see any other sights in the UP. We certainly enjoyed our week there and would recommend the Trailwind Lodge to anyone planning a trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! Thank you Kevin and Tammy for making this little piece of paradise available on VRBO!"

"What a great place! The house is very clean, well designed and beautifully decorated. Great room (kitchen/living room/dining room) for family time, but quiet, private bedroom areas for time apart too. The lot is private with spectacular view of beautiful Lake Manistique. The week we were there, the fishermen in our family were rewarded with more than 25 pike! We are already planning and looking forward to our visit next summer."

"My husband and four adult children/spouses spent a relaxing week in this beautifully decorated family home on a large lake. There is a dock and a small bit of beach that are perfect for enjoying the water on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Within an hour's drive of Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, Taquhemmonen (sp) Falls...it is a great base to explore the area. We rented a pontoon boat for a couple of days and enjoyed hours on the lake. The home is clean and comfortable - not fancy or stuffy. There was no air conditioning which wasn't a problem during our stay - and likely isn't often on the UP - but plan accordingly. The owner was very helpful with great driving directions (it is off the beaten path - a plus!) and a notebook with lots of information on the area. A great value - we would definitely return!"
