  • Highly Recommended!!!

"My wife and I spent a week at Grace Cottage and couldn't have been more pleased. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. The setting is absolutely gorgeous! The location was perfect for our daytrips to Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, The Great Shipwreck Museum and DeTour Village. Cedarville is quaint and the people are friendly. I recommend a visit to the Maritime Museum. The close proximity to town and the grocery store is very convenient. The owners were very nice and offered some good suggestions of things to do and see in the area. I wish we'd have had more time to just sit out back and enjoy the view."

  • Perfect 20th Anniversary Trip

"We stayed an entire week in this beautiful cabin in the UP of Michigan. The cabin was well equipped with everything to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Kitchen is well stocked, gas grill is ready and waiting, the pellet stove is up for its important job and the decor makes you feel right at home. Mary Jean answered our emails in a timely manner and even though our deposit checks "went missing", she was very patient and understanding. There was a folder with all the pertinent info one could need on the area "goings on". We used a blue pamphlet to make sure to hit all the big sights and many waterfalls in the area (we always had this with us). The day trips looking for waterfall after waterfall were the best. This area is a GREAT place to Geocache. I think we found 28 caches on this trip. The most ever in such a short amount of time (we usually have our teens with us and it's usually them actually locating the caches - it's sooo much fun being the 'finder' and not the 'secretary' documenting the finds). The hot tub is great and always makes returning after a long day knowing that's waiting. We didn't have enough time to enjoy the lake right there at the cabin. Our day trips kept us busy and when we were at the cabin, the chilly air and winds kept us inside by the stove. There's so much left to do up there and I think a 2 week visit would be ideal. We want to return again ASAP and thinking about leaving the teens at home once again. The cell service is nil but you know that from the get go since Mary Jean made sure to inform us of that ahead of time. The cabin does have WI-Fi and when we were at the cabin, my husband was able to keep in contact with other family members who had iPhones. There's too much more to tell you and you will need to take my word for it when I say this is the perfect cabin to stay at. Thank you Ed and Mary Jean for sharing your family home with us. We'd love to return next year."

  • Our Favorite

"This was our second year (there will be a 3rd and more) at this cabin. To be honest I want to be selfish and not leave a review so this place is always available for us to book when we want! But that wouldn't be fair to the hosts. It is clean and well kept. The owners are always making improvements every Spring and Fall and it shows that they care about constantly improving the cabin. When we travel, we usually will stay in a vacation rental and this ranks among the best we've stayed in! The scenery in this area of the UP is stunning. Whether you stay at the cabin and just enjoy the changing moods of Lake Superior (and catch a glimpse of the bald eagles or possibly the Northern Lights) or take a drive through the area we like to call "North of North", you will NOT be disappointed. This cabin is a great place to start from and return to if you chose to go on an excursion. If you want to be comfortable and just relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature surrounding you, this IS the place to stay. Looking forward to staying again next year!"

  • Great vacation spot with the family!

"I recently spent a week at this fabulous log cabin with my son and his family, as well as bringing my 90 yr. old Mother. The cabin was clean and incredibly comfortable. Mom was able to get around easily, cane and all. It met all of our needs: spacious, homey, warm, peaceful, great views, loaded large kitchen, and AWAY FROM NORMAL LIFE!!! Pat and Ken are very kind, helpful, and accessible. We'll definitely be returning."
