  • Great vacation spot with the family!

"I recently spent a week at this fabulous log cabin with my son and his family, as well as bringing my 90 yr. old Mother. The cabin was clean and incredibly comfortable. Mom was able to get around easily, cane and all. It met all of our needs: spacious, homey, warm, peaceful, great views, loaded large kitchen, and AWAY FROM NORMAL LIFE!!! Pat and Ken are very kind, helpful, and accessible. We'll definitely be returning."

  • Winter Wonderland

"We wanted to have lots of snow to enjoy winter activities such as xc-/ and downhill skiing. And we truly experienced it. Knowing the Keweenaw area from a previous xc- ski race in March (The Great Bear Chase) we assumed that this area must receive a lot of snow in the winter. It felt nice and cozy in our cabin and we had plenty of space to play, eat and relax with our family of 5 especially when the temperatures were really low and the wind chill not so inviting to go outside. We loved the Sauna and tranquility of the area, away from the bigger towns like Calumet or Houghton. We also enjoyed the winter view of Lake Superior and the build-up ice on the shore. Our teenager is dreaming of going snowmobiling up there and starting right outside on the trails of the vacation home. That would actually be very lovely. Skiing is as excellent as it can get in the Midwest with the highest mountain Bohemia (900 ft.). They do not groom and if there is fresh powder snow like we experienced it, the downhill skiing is great for advanced and expert skiers. There are many trails throughout the area for xc- skiing (classic and skating) as well as snowshoeing. However, the best xc- skiing for us was in Swedetown/ Calumet with their great sledding hill and a 1 km "Cookie-trail" loop for our younger xc-skiers. Thank you for the reliable and easy communication and sharing your property with us. We loved it!"

  • Lovely cabin in the woods!

"We had a wonderful long weekend at this lovely cabin! So appreciate that Tex stayed up till midnight waiting to lead us to the cabin, which is so very secluded, we would not have found it. We had warm fires every night in the wood stove (first night Tex came and made sure the fire was built) Cabin is cozy, huge, clean and lacks nothing. Can't wait to return!"

  • "Superior" in every way

"Our time at your cabin was wonderful. The week covered the entire gamut of weather.....warm, calm, stormy, windy, cool, sunny , cloudy. Each day was different and dramatic in its own way. Our 16 year old Border Collie acted like a pup again , chasing sticks into the lake and in general, enjoying herself. The "Big Bay Tennis Assn." was most accommodating in the use of the courts they built and asked us to join them in a set of tennis. In addition to day trips to waterfalls, Thomas Lookout and the Huron Mountain Club gateway, we sampled the local cuisine. Lumberjack Bar ice cream was a high point as was Lisa and my good fortune to celebrate our 60th and 70th birthdays at your lovely cabin. Thank you and we hope to be back!"
