"Spent a wonderful week at this beautiful log cabin with my family which included myself, my husband and our two young children. This cabin was in a perfect location to get out and enjoy day trips around the U.P., but also great to just stay there and fish, swim, relax, etc. The cabin was very spacious, peaceful and well cared for. Everything that you think you may need or forgot to bring, seemed to be in the cabin. You don't even need to bring the kids toys. Our kids loved playing with the "new" toys at the cabin. Ken and Patt were awesome hosts, very helpful and kind. We will definitely be returning!"

"My husband and I stayed here with our 2 dogs for a week to celebrate our anniversary and we had a wonderful time. The views are spectacular and the house is adorable (although my 6 ft 3 in husband bumped his head at least once a day!). We loved having coffee in the morning in the screen porch, playing games at night in the studio listening to Lake Superior and relaxing next to a fire watching the stars. Our dogs loved playing frisbee in the yard and going to the nearby beach for a swim. It was a great vacation for all of us!"

"Last week I, my son and 2 grandsons, age 4 and 7; spent a glorious week at this home. We spent the majority of our days on the private sandy beach. Some days the water was like glass, and other days the water had fun waves. The boys loved playing in the sand, splashing in the water, jumping waves, being pulled around in inner tubes, walking the beach looking for treasures, etc. We made pizza's and s'mores on the fire pit every night. The home was beautiful, comfortable, spacious...with an amazing view of the lake. This was the best vacation, and I will hold the memories in my heart forever!"

"Had a fantastic stay at Plover Retreat this weekend while exploring the UP. It was very clean and well taken care of. The details are thought out, you can tell. The kitchen had every gadget I needed, even a hand mixer! The bath towels were nice, the mattress was comfortable (I was by myself on a solo retreat). I loved the porch and the fire pit. I couldn't easily find my way down to the beach so I missed out on that but I had so much fun exploring the Taquomonon Falls, Pictured Rocks and driving H-58 that it didn't phase me. I later saw in the welcome book to go to Ellen Street for the public beach access but never did. Next time! I highly recommend Plover Retreat to anyone that wants to be centrally located for the popular sights and tourist attractions in the UP. The people are nice in town, too. Make sure you bring fresh groceries if you plan to cook. The local store has very limited selections and it's quite a ways to get to a bigger supermarket. If you plan to eat in Grand Marais at the end of your day, the Brewery is really the only place that serves food after 8 or so. I never made it to the West Bay Diner but I heard it's pretty good."
