  • Better than the pictures

"Three families stayed here with 2 kids, 2 kids, and 1 kid for a ski weekend at Indianhead. The kids slept in the same bedrooms as their parents. The house has three levels, we stayed at what they call the main or upper unit which consists of the upper two levels - so this review applies only to that unit. The upper and lower units have separate driveways- so you don't even know the other occupants are there. Beds were very comfortable. The unit is about 500 yards (?) from the arc-de-skiomphe marking the entrance to Indianhead ski area parking lot. This puts it just outside of realistic comfortable walking distance for adults or kids in ski boots. No problem though, its a 30 second drive to drop off your stuff and get going. As others have mentioned, it is nicer than it appears in the pictures. Everything was clean and quite nice. Owner and caretaker both VERY nice, responsive and easy to work with. We all agreed we would stay here again, and just may do so in future years."

  • Great Up North Cabin for the Entire Family

"This cabin had a little bit of everything. The cabin is on a peninsula with water in the front and back of the house. The views were beautiful! We saw many birds including ducks, eagles, and cranes. The kids loved the paddle boat and swing set. My husband loved that there was plenty of kids life vests and fishing poles. Our weather was somewhat rainy, so I enjoyed that there was so much to do for us and the kids in the cabin: cable, internet, kids toys, kids books, board games and cards. The cabin was clean and very accommodating with lots of comfy seating and beautiful views. Our and our brothers' family rented this cabin as an alternative to staying in a hotel in Marquette while we visited for our sister’s graduation from NMU. We had 10 of us all together and had everything you needed in the kitchen to cook and serve meals. The drive to Marquette was quick and easy. Our trip was only for a long weekend and I feel like there was so much more we could have enjoyed while we were there, I wish we had stayed for a week. I would definitely recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a up north vacation with the family or friends!"

  • "Superior" in every way

"Our time at your cabin was wonderful. The week covered the entire gamut of weather.....warm, calm, stormy, windy, cool, sunny , cloudy. Each day was different and dramatic in its own way. Our 16 year old Border Collie acted like a pup again , chasing sticks into the lake and in general, enjoying herself. The "Big Bay Tennis Assn." was most accommodating in the use of the courts they built and asked us to join them in a set of tennis. In addition to day trips to waterfalls, Thomas Lookout and the Huron Mountain Club gateway, we sampled the local cuisine. Lumberjack Bar ice cream was a high point as was Lisa and my good fortune to celebrate our 60th and 70th birthdays at your lovely cabin. Thank you and we hope to be back!"

  • Wonderful home!

"My husband and I booked this rental for our "First Annual" couples snowmobile trip - and this place was perfect! We had 6 people total and it was the perfect house for our trip. Everything was clearly covered and ready for us when we arrived, firewood next to the fireplace and everything. Since we had a large amount of snowmobile gear to bring, it was very nice to have everything else we could possibly want already in the house. The decor was beautiful which gave a nice "Northern Michigan" feel. The beds were very nice, they even had flannel sheets which was perfect after a cold day of snowmobiling. Easy access to the trails and Moran gas station is very close by for necessities. There were many additional touches that I did not expect - a large variety of movies, books, games, local maps, and menu's. The kitchen had plenty of "misc" items such as spices, cookie sheets, even a crock pot which was also unexpected. We had a fantastic trip and hope we can return to this home again either in the summer or next year's snowmobile trip. Thank you Wendy, what a great experience!"
