  • Perfect 20th Anniversary Trip

"We stayed an entire week in this beautiful cabin in the UP of Michigan. The cabin was well equipped with everything to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Kitchen is well stocked, gas grill is ready and waiting, the pellet stove is up for its important job and the decor makes you feel right at home. Mary Jean answered our emails in a timely manner and even though our deposit checks "went missing", she was very patient and understanding. There was a folder with all the pertinent info one could need on the area "goings on". We used a blue pamphlet to make sure to hit all the big sights and many waterfalls in the area (we always had this with us). The day trips looking for waterfall after waterfall were the best. This area is a GREAT place to Geocache. I think we found 28 caches on this trip. The most ever in such a short amount of time (we usually have our teens with us and it's usually them actually locating the caches - it's sooo much fun being the 'finder' and not the 'secretary' documenting the finds). The hot tub is great and always makes returning after a long day knowing that's waiting. We didn't have enough time to enjoy the lake right there at the cabin. Our day trips kept us busy and when we were at the cabin, the chilly air and winds kept us inside by the stove. There's so much left to do up there and I think a 2 week visit would be ideal. We want to return again ASAP and thinking about leaving the teens at home once again. The cell service is nil but you know that from the get go since Mary Jean made sure to inform us of that ahead of time. The cabin does have WI-Fi and when we were at the cabin, my husband was able to keep in contact with other family members who had iPhones. There's too much more to tell you and you will need to take my word for it when I say this is the perfect cabin to stay at. Thank you Ed and Mary Jean for sharing your family home with us. We'd love to return next year."

  • Great spot!

"We had a wonderful, albeit short, stay at this charming and beautifully located beach cottage. The views of Superior were fabulous and the house was very well located for taking in all there is to see on the upper peninsula. The hosts were most welcoming and the house was immaculate and incredibly cozy."

  • Another great stay at the Rock Cut Cabin

"This was our second consecutive spring break to stay at the Rock Cut Cabin. My wife and I (and our dog, Sutton) couldn't have been happier with this rental. The description of the cabin is spot on. The cabin is perfect for a couple of people. The location is perfect. It lies approximately 2-3 miles outside the center of Marquette. There is a bike path right outside the cabin that leads into Marquette. And although it is on a highway, the traffic noise is not a bother. The view from the cabin (Lake Superior) can't get much better in my opinion. I can only imagine how nice it is in the summer months. The wireless Internet connection worked flawlessly during our stay and the new TV was a nice addition. The master bedroom was nice with a very comfortable mattress. Without a doubt our favorite part of the Rock Cut Cabin was the fireplace. My wife and I enjoyed a fire every night during our stay (firewood is provided). You just can't beat the enjoyment of a warm fire, view of Lake Superior all the while sitting in a nice comfy sofa. The owners are great and answer questions promptly."

  • Perfect, peaceful family vacation

"We are staying at Saint's Rest this week, but I couldn't wait to write a review! Communication and arranging our stay with Robert, the homeowner, was excellent-- professional, friendly, and helpful. We arrived to a wonderfully kept, immaculately clean, cozy yet spacious beach house with everything we could possibly need--well stocked kitchen, laundry facilities, linens...all the details. We are close enough to town for nice bike rides to take the kids to the park or the children's museum. But the beach...the sights and sounds of Lake Superior...that VIEW! This has been by far the most marvelous part of our trip. Kayak excursions, swimming, sand castles, beach fires, leisurely walks...just steps from the porch. It's really helped our boys reconnect with nature and their imaginations and exploration...and given mom and dad some time to just REST and enjoy! Thanks so much!!"
