  • Just Perfect

"This cottage was perfect. We stayed during the snowmobiling season and this place had everything we needed and more. We had no complaints about the cottage and dealing with the owner was so easy. Close to a small gas station, that had a restaurant there also, and not far from the main town for all your other needs ( groceries, restaurants, shopping, gas stations). We had an absolute awesome time and plan on returning next year."

  • Trail Wind Lodge

"My husband and I, and our weiner dog, Charley, stayed at the Trail Wind Lodge. We have been home two days, and we are ready to go back. The place was excellent, and the pictures on this web site are right on the mark. If we had only showed up with our towels and tooth brushes, it would have been more than enough. Kevin and his wife thought of everything. I was impressed with how clean the property was inside and out. Even the window sill were clean! There was always hot water and the rooms had no marks or dents, or holes in the wall. We had experienced things like that at other places in the past. These people take pride in their rental. My husband and I enjoyed the motor boat for fishing, even though it was chilly. We fish and we like to go when the temperature is in the 60's. It was great! We recommend this place to people that want a nice quiet get-a-way AND if you are an avid star gazer! Stars were too numerous to count! Breath-taking! The owner also supplies a canoe, kiyak, paddle boat, etc. We can't say enough about how great this place was. We got to meet the owner, and he is as nice and accommodating as he can be. We are definitely planning on going back next year - God willing. Charley too! I would be glad to give people information by email, if the owner is willing to share it. Thanks again Kevin, you and your wife be wonderfully blessed!"

  • Perfect Winter Getaway!

"My boyfriend and I just returned from the most tranquil and peaceful stay at the Grizzly Den and will definitely return! The cabin is in the most beautiful and remote setting along the Trout river with miles of snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing trails! Even in the dead of winter we were toasty warm and cozy inside the cabin. It has everything you need! We had hot water, lights, gas stove, and the gas fireplace was sooo cozy and perfect. Not having internet or a TV was a huge plus as there is so much to do and it is SO unbelievably refreshing to get away from the chaos of life back home. We brought books and games but found we were active outdoors the entire time and just wanted to cuddle up in front of the fireplace with hot cocoa and some homecooked meals when not active. It was so relaxing! Steve and Deb had all the dishes inside that we would have needed. They even had a gift basket waiting for us when we arrived! They also have a selection of games in case you didn't think to bring your own. Additionally, Steve and Deb were SO warm and inviting. The gift basket upon our arrival was a great touch, and Steve was so friendly and happy to take us by snowmobile to the cabin upon our arrival. He made it very clear that he would be available if we had ANY questions or needed anything at all, but the cabin was so perfect that we didn't need a thing. We are already making plans to come back here in the summer and next winter again. It is seriously the perfect relaxing getaway! Just what everyone needs to relax and bring life back to basics. Just beautiful and great to rent from such wonderful people."

  • Lovely cottage, lovely vacation spot, no worries!

"We rented the cottage for our son's graduation from Michigan Tech. We found it to be a little slice of heaven. As other's have said, well equiped, clean, comfortable, & the beach was amazing. Even though we were early in the season we took walks on the beach, saw no one but ourselves, it was incredible. Good advice to pick up your groceries on the way there. Bottled water is not a must, but you may be happier with it if you are fussy at all. If you arrive late, in the dark, as we did, yes keep going even when the road snakes among trees you are getting close! After driving though the U.P. with the cell phone constantly searching for service, my cell battery died before arriving. The house number/address, directions, and contact info were in the now useless phone. We still found the place from my memory of reading the email. It is set nearer to the road than others, & very easy to find even in the dark. After staying there once, we'd love to return. Thank you Todd and Kathleen for sharing your cottage with us."
