  • Comfortable Family Home

"My husband and four adult children/spouses spent a relaxing week in this beautifully decorated family home on a large lake. There is a dock and a small bit of beach that are perfect for enjoying the water on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Within an hour's drive of Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, Taquhemmonen (sp) Falls...it is a great base to explore the area. We rented a pontoon boat for a couple of days and enjoyed hours on the lake. The home is clean and comfortable - not fancy or stuffy. There was no air conditioning which wasn't a problem during our stay - and likely isn't often on the UP - but plan accordingly. The owner was very helpful with great driving directions (it is off the beaten path - a plus!) and a notebook with lots of information on the area. A great value - we would definitely return!"

  • A great place to experience the tremendous snow in the UP!

"We had a great long weekend at the cabin. We arrived to find it clean and well appointed with items for cooking and sleeping. There was plenty of firewood for the fireplace - and most importantly - the sauna! When we weren't cross country skiing in Houghton, Hancock, and Calumet, we spent a lot of time in the living room and kitchen. The loft area worked great for sleeping at night and visiting during the day. The property owner was very responsive when I had a couple of minor questions and the directions to the property were thorough and complete. The listing described the place very well. If anything, the pictures didn't quite do it justice, particularly for the nice sauna building. I would love to come back in the summer, fall, or again in the winter!"

  • Awesome Honeymoon at the Great Escape!

"My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Grand Marais and we stayed at the Great Escape. We absolutely loved everything about it! We loved the location, the cozy atmosphere of the place, and the cleanliness of the cottage when we arrived. Sure, it was pretty chilly during the time we were there (it actually snowed our last full day there!), but we still had a great time looking for Agates on the beach and sitting by the little fireplace, sipping tea and coffee. We definitely plan on returning to the Great Escape (maybe when the weather is a little bit warmer), it is definitely a gem in the beautiful U.P.!"

  • Peaceful and Serene

"My family spent a week at the Eagles Nest and enjoyed everything about it from the campfires, beach, kayaking, canoing, and beautiful view. The home was clean and we felt very comfortable. All of the cooking utensils, linens, and towels were available to save you from having to pack them to bring along. We were close to St Ignace for shopping and dining out, but, really enjoyed grilling and cooking at home. This location is a real gem! Would definitely recommend to anyone with or without kids!"
