  • Very comfortable - so much to do!!!

"Our family spent a week at the Heidi Haus in July and had a great time. The cottage is clean, very comfortable, well-stocked, and has the creature comforts of nice beds, laundry, bath, and kitchen. Pictures are accurate. Loft is really large, and kids enjoyed having their own space up there. We enjoyed walking along the beach every morning - and noting the changes in shoreline from the day before. We used the owners canoe in the bay; caught smallmouth bass in the Menomonee River, and some smaller fish in the Cedar River; went bike riding; visited the DeYoung Zoo; went swimming; and had a fire out on the beach. We also brought our ATVs along - there are some really wonderful trails in the area, and we seldom crossed paths with other riders (you can trailer 4 miles to a trailhead, or ATV right off the property - just can't use ATVs on M35). Owners were very helpful in directing us where to register our ATVs in Michigan (only 4 miles away); where to fish; how to get to zoo; etc. For this mom, it was a great alternative to camping - we could do all of the same things, but had access to the comforts and conveniences of cottage."

  • An amazing home for a getaway

"This was our second stay at this wonderful home. In both cases we had 7 adults away for a weekend of mountain biking. The house is fantastic for entertaining. The great room / kitchen is a great space. We especially enjoyed the record collection. Our gracious host ran out to replace the record player when we found that it no longer worked. The games room in the basement is always popular, as is the sauna. Nothing like a dip in Lake Superior after a day of riding and sauna-ing. Speaking of Lake Superior - the house sits on an absolutely stunning section of sand beach. Thanks again Jean! We will be back!"

  • Fall get-away

"Returned to the Beach House mid-October for a repeat of last year's wonderful stay. Loved having wi-fi, being able to bring our two older mutts, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of crashing waves, just a few yards from the cabin. All in all, despite rainy weather, we had a wonderful time. Recommendations: The Lagniappe Restaurant in Marquette and the Langenenfeld Outdoor Sculpture Park."

  • Wow! Just what we wanted.

"Went to Marquette for our daughter's graduation and stayed in this house. It was everything we hoped for and more. Clean, quiet, close to everything, beautifully decorated. We hosted our daughter's friends and families for a lunch after graduation and it was wonderful to have the spaces like kitchen, dining room and living room. This home was much better than a hotel or restaurant for visiting. My only regret is that I didn't find this place earlier when my daughter first started attending NMU because we would have stayed more often. It's a gem, you won't be disappointed. I would like to come back in the summer!"
