  • Excellent place!

"We spent the labor day weekend in the UP this year (2014), mainly exploring the outdoors along the Pictured Rock lake shore. We stayed in Seney and made day trips to Munising and Grand Marais. We had a wonderful stay at the property. It was very spacious for two people and absolutely clean and tidy. We'd highly recommend it, and would stay again if we are in the area."

  • PERFECT Family Getaway Home!

"This was our first time renting a vacation home. We needed a place to stay on our way up to Michigan Tech. After reading online reviews of other vacation homes, we decided to take a chance on Cool Water Shores. When we arrived to the home, we couldn't believe what we saw. Deer greeted us as we got out of the vehicle. What a perfect way to start our trip! As we entered the home, you immediately look straight through the home onto the lake. The owners of this home knew exactly what to do to capture the beauty of the area. The gigantic bay windows allow for deer viewing in the backyard every morning and evening. This home had everything you could ever need or want. I loved being able to relax and not have to worry about anything. Throughout the reservation process, anytime I called the owner, Doug, he displayed excellent customer service skills and always made me feel comfortable. I would recommend this home to all my friends and family. Thank you Cool Water Shores for making this Illinois family feel so welcomed! **Info for future vacationers** Since we were there at a bad time of year, there wasn't much to do outside and not much going on in other towns. In fact, we ate at JW's BBQ (which was AMAZING!) and they said it was their last day of operation for the season. If you plan on a Lake Gogebic vacation March-April, make sure you contact all the places you want to visit to verify they will be open."

  • Epic Adventure Week 7

"The Finnish Farm was fantastic. Don was so nice. Just an incredible and beautiful property with a natural setting and location. We used the property for base camp for touring the area but ended up spending most of the week at the property relaxing with Lake Superior, nature and all the trimmings of Finnish comfort. The house, outbuildings and yard are peaceful, serene, natural, majestic, very pretty and very comfortable in all regards. The vistas are breathtaking. We thoroughly enjoyed the modern, clean, fresh, comfortable, well appointed main house with all the amenities needed at hand. We cooked gourmet meals daily. Bon fires at the pit daily. Daily Finnish sauna was heavenly. The views of Lake Superior, eagles, hummingbirds, sky, stars, sunrises, trees, rocks, cliffs, crashing surf, mountains and clouds were just incredibly fantastic. We had so much fun with each of the out buildings. The cliff overlook screen porch and deck, the marvelous studio building and deck, the bedroom bay windows, the living room windows and the yard fire pit area were each so much fun for relaxing and viewing nature. We could have spent the whole week in the studio just staring at Lake Superior, the bluffs, the surf, trees, boats and the eagles through the telescope and enjoying the comfort of this nicely appointed building and its windows. The library in the house is immense and well varied. Sleeping to the sound of Lake Superior is phenomenal. We will go back."

  • Highly Recommended!!!

"My wife and I spent a week at Grace Cottage and couldn't have been more pleased. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. The setting is absolutely gorgeous! The location was perfect for our daytrips to Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, The Great Shipwreck Museum and DeTour Village. Cedarville is quaint and the people are friendly. I recommend a visit to the Maritime Museum. The close proximity to town and the grocery store is very convenient. The owners were very nice and offered some good suggestions of things to do and see in the area. I wish we'd have had more time to just sit out back and enjoy the view."
