  • Loved Our Getaway and Cabin in the Woods!!

"We absolutely loved staying at this cabin! It was nice, cozy, and clean. Very accommodating, and very easy process of reserving and check in/check out. I would very much recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice U.P. getaway! The cabin was nicely tucked back in the woods off of the road, and you could not see any of the other cabins nearby at all. We had the nice use of the owner's canoe to take a relaxing paddle around their lake across the street. My kids LOVED the bunk beds upstairs, and it was also nice having an assortment of games that we had never played before, and paper, books, and crayons for the kids. The cabin is also very centrally located that allowed us to visit Pictured Rocks in Munising, Munising Falls, Miners Castle, and "Kitch-iti-kipi" Big Springs. We also took a ride to the 1800's mining town inside the Fayette State Park - which was very cool! And while you are there, be sure to go and have dinner at the Jack Pine Lodge, just about 8 miles down the road - very nice place and good food! Thank you for a wonderful getaway! We had wished we didn't have to leave!"

  • Private, beautiful, perfect!

"We recently stayed at the cabin during the weekend of our wedding. It couldn't have been more special. The night before our wedding, we enjoyed a beautiful Northern Lights display that was the perfect kick-off to the weekend. The stars here are incredible! Best of all, it is less than 10 minutes to Calumet, so convenience and privacy blend just right. It is basically a studio, with the bedroom in the kitchen, so we would highly recommend for a couple. Any more than that and it would get tight. The owners provided a grill and all necessary amenities to make our stay perfect! I already miss waking up and seeing the lake early in the morning."

  • Beautiful Views On The Lake

"Yearly we try to find a place large enough to bring our kids, their families, and some aunts and uncles. We were not pleased with our last trip, so looked for something that was large and equidistant from the various travel points (Chicago, Saginaw, and Minneapolis). The owners were nice enough to let us check in early, and even though the dishwasher was out of order (being a homeowner, we all know that happens), the entire experience was fantastic. We rented the pontoon boat and the older boys/men went out fishing. We buried a treasure map and treasure on the island in the middle of Stanley Lake, and made it fun for the younger crowd. The decor of this home is very nice and understated. It would not be out of place in a major city. It had wi-fi, Direct TV, a firepit (with wood!), and a large hot tub on the lower porch. The upper deck gave wonderful views of the lake, which is 67 steps down to the dock (we know, our legs still hurt!). Because you are in the U.P., the lake was hardly crowded, just some fishing boats and the occasional jet ski. The area is typical small town, so don't go expecting that there will be a vibrant nightlife. This is THE place to chill out with all the comforts of home on hand. We were very happy with the rental, and the owners...oh, and yes, there seems to be a friendly spirit at times (just read the in house guest book). 5 stars, and they deserve every one."

  • Wonderful family fishing spot

"We had a wonderful time here. Lots of fish to be caught, on this wonderful quiet lake. We enjoyed all of the wildlife and solitude around us. The boys enjoyed paddle boating around the lake."
