"We brought our 2 small children and our dog up to Stony Point. We also invited both sets of parents, so we had a total of 6 adults and 2 children. Stony Point was plenty big to accommodate a group this size. The house was far nicer than what I was used to for the North Woods. The kitchen appears to have been updated recently, and the main level is open and cozy, which was nice for meals and having everyone together. But, for when you need your space or some quiet time, both levels have large, comfy living areas. It was also very nice to have a full bathroom on each level. Additionally, there is a washer/dryer available to use, which is convenient. Although you can see neighbors on both sides, the property still felt plenty private and secluded to me.
The only thing preventing me from giving the 5 star "excellent" rating is the waterfront area. We had expected the area on the south side of the pier to be sandy, but it was a little rocky. I think its only an issue if you plan to have little kids walking in the water. If you do, I would highly recommend water shoes. Also, because the property is on the west side of the lake and is surrounded by tall trees, it makes it difficult to get any sun. I had to float off the pier a little bit to catch some rays, but that was fine. Additionally, the pictures show the pier to be an "L" shape with a bench, but when we were there, it was a straight aluminum pier with no bench.
Overall, I would recommend Stony Point for families or adults just looking to get away. The house is nice, and the lake is beautiful. Our dog had a blast swimming in the lake and my kids and I caught bass, perch, and panfish off the pier. It was a great family vacation -"
