"My husband and I stayed in this home with our toddler the week before the 4th of July. The house itself is perfect and the location is wonderful. It was super quiet yet also close to everything. The only two downsides to the home for us were the condition of the master bedroom mattress and the loudness of the hvac system.
The master mattress felt really broken in. One side of the mattress in particular was so worn in that my husband was significantly lower down than the side of the mattress I was on. It was so uncomfortable that my husband and I ended up sleeping in another bedroom for the entire trip.
The other large negative was the loudness of the hvac system. When the AC or heat turned on, it sounded like a large vacuum machine, which scared our toddler and kept waking him up until we finally set the systems to not turn on. We were lucky that the weather was perfect while we were there, but if we had needed to have AC on, I think we would have been pretty upset and we would have not gotten much sleep.
The house itself is beautiful and very well appointed."

"Located just east of Petoskey and minutes from the dunes of Petoskey State Park and quaint shops of Harbor Springs, this historic cottage is steps from some of the best up north activities. After a day out and about the large screened porch is a perfect place to relax. Two hiking trails nearby offer a self guided trip back in time, when the ridge behind Bayview was the shore of an ancient lake. We look forward to our week at Bayview every year. All and all a perfect up north getaway."

"We stayed at the Applewood Cottage for two years in a row--each year we saw improvements inside the cottage. I'm a bit amazed at some of the comments I'm reading. It's a small rustic cottage with a lot of room to hike the grounds (with our Golden Retriever), and it's perfectly located so you can easily visit Door County's towns/parks or just sit under the stars by a campfire, yes, on weathered Adirondeck chairs. You'll receive much-needed privacy and cozy comfort no matter when you stay! Sharon is always a delight to work with--concerned about our stay and responsive to our needs."

"We returned here again for a wonderfully peaceful week. We love the moods of the lake and enjoy listening and looking out at it. We saw eagles flying over the beach daily! There is so much around the area to do and if you want more there's so many waterfalls, lighthouses in the area , and of course the Mackinac Bridge. We really enjoyed seeing that! We had plans to go to Whitefish Museum but decided to save it for our next time.
The cabin is so clean and decorated so lovely and has everything you could possibly need while you're here. The washer and dryer was a big plus for us. We really appreciate Mike and Brenda sharing their vacation home with us."
