"The two of us enjoyed our stay at this rental. The owners were very pleasant to deal with. The rental is uniquely decorated. We had no trouble with the may flies. Weather was great. Detour is a quaint village. Scenery was beautiful."

"We just returned from a week at this cottage, and had a wonderful time. The location is great, on a hidden little cove at the south end of 16 Mile lake. The lake is great if you have a canoe or kayak since it has lots of islands and inlets to explore and the north end of the lake is totally undeveloped. We saw several bald eagles and heard loons calling almost every day. The location is also close for visiting Munising, Pictured Rocks and many of the beautiful water falls in the area, and only about a 40 minute drive to the Seney Wildlife Refuge, which is definitely worth visiting.
The cottage itself is very nice and well equipped. Our only complaint was that the full size bed in the second bedroom was not very comfortable. We traveled with another couple who used the master bedroom, so we were relegated to the smaller bed....rather hard and creaky. The smaller bedrooms could also use some ceiling fans. Probably not an issue most of the time, but we were there during a pretty warm week. We solved that by picking up a cheap fan at the hardware store in Munising.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this property. There are 2 bedrooms on third floor but the 4th "bedroom" is really a loft nook with 2 twin beds, fine for kids but no door for privacy. Plenty of bedding and comfortable beds, lots of space for everyone. Especially nice for families because you can put the kids in bed on the 3rd floor and then adults can socialize (and get as loud as they want!) on the bottom floor in the kitchen and small living room area there. The second floor has a bedroom and sitting area, 2 very comfortable couches, and TV, and opens out to the screened in porch. The washer and dryer made it easy to pack light. The local bar Barb's Bob-Lo Tavern is right next door so it's fun to walk there for one of the meal specials, shuffleboard, or a game of pool. Everyone we met on the island was very friendly and helpful. A really unique setup with lots of space and a great view in a memorable location. We rode bikes, kayaked, hunted, and hiked all over the island. Highly recommend the plane ride over to Mackinac Island, totally worth it for a memorable day trip. One tip, there are 3 bathrooms so make sure you bring hand soap for all of them and also dish soap, and also bring trash bags as you will need to remove all your trash when you leave, they don't do trash removal."
