  • Quaint and perfect

"Very quaint and clean rental in a perfect location. We were able to walk to the deserted beach for perfect sunsets and sit at the harbor when the wind came up. Stu was very easy to work with and didn't add all the red tape and fees you usually get with other rentals. This is the perfect place to stay to explore Pictured Rocks National Park and you can walk to Sable Falls along the beach. Very unique weekend...thanks Stu."

  • Very comfortable - so much to do!!!

"Our family spent a week at the Heidi Haus in July and had a great time. The cottage is clean, very comfortable, well-stocked, and has the creature comforts of nice beds, laundry, bath, and kitchen. Pictures are accurate. Loft is really large, and kids enjoyed having their own space up there. We enjoyed walking along the beach every morning - and noting the changes in shoreline from the day before. We used the owners canoe in the bay; caught smallmouth bass in the Menomonee River, and some smaller fish in the Cedar River; went bike riding; visited the DeYoung Zoo; went swimming; and had a fire out on the beach. We also brought our ATVs along - there are some really wonderful trails in the area, and we seldom crossed paths with other riders (you can trailer 4 miles to a trailhead, or ATV right off the property - just can't use ATVs on M35). Owners were very helpful in directing us where to register our ATVs in Michigan (only 4 miles away); where to fish; how to get to zoo; etc. For this mom, it was a great alternative to camping - we could do all of the same things, but had access to the comforts and conveniences of cottage."

  • Awesome, Relaxing Getaway!

"We wanted to escape and enjoy the fall colors...what a great place to do just that! Far enough from the city that you feel you've made your escape, but not too far of a drive to town to enjoy restaurants, shopping, a movie, etc. In addition to that it seems there is plenty to do in the area. If you like the water, it looks like a great place to enjoy boating of any kind, and there are boat launches & marinas nearby. We also saw ATV & snowmobile trails, and though we don't hunt I imagine there are some great places to do so. The wildlife is everywhere! We also took a trip to the very picturesque Door County peninsula for a wine tasting adventure and a fish boil which is a local tradition. In addition to the wineries, there are many quaint harbor towns loaded with little shops and places to eat. It was the highlight of our trip, we highly recommend it! The cottage itself was immaculate, nicely updated, and furnished with everything we needed. Just add food and drink and you're all set. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. There's a nice beach with a fire pit, plus the cottage has a huge deck, and both are perfect spots to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Lake Michigan and the stars at night! We WILL be back!!!"

  • So Much to Do in this beautiful part of the UP! Great Communication with Owner.

"We stayed at this nice Cabin and found so much to do we ended up using it as a home base. We want to stay again sometime when we can just enjoy the private beach and other amenities that come with this Home away from Home. The Lake is peaceful & Sun Rises wonderful. Even though it was just my husband and myself this home could easily accommodate 3 couples each having their own area one downstairs, one on the main level and the other in the loft above or great place for an extended family i.e. grandchildren, teenagers and the like. We found Sandy beaches all over the area including the one right here at this cabin. Picked rock, hiked a number of trails to the most beautiful Waterfalls and saw some of the best Scenic Overlooks anywhere. We visited a number of Antique shops. There is shopping available for any taste. Our goal was to spend as much time hiking and with nature that we could and we did! I took over 1,000 pictures. We had some rain but mostly Sun and mid 70's and one day even 80 in Sept! It was one of our most awesome Vacations!! Thanks Ed for sharing this lovely home and piece of earth with us! Ed is wonderful to work with. We rent a number of VRBO's each summer and this rental was so easy to rent! Seamless really. The feel is inviting and the surroundings made it easy for us to make this our home for the week. Thanks Ed for being so great to work with and sharing your wonderful Lake Home.
