  • Wildernest Chalet

"Our vacation to the Wildernest was fabulous. The place was very neat and clean. The pictures do not due it justice. The views from the living room are beautiful. Our kids really enjoyed playing outside, besides the great location to the ski hills. The owner was great at making sure everything was perfect for our stay. We stayed in the upper unit with another family; the layout was perfect, plenty of space. What a nice get away. We will be back. Thank you!"

  • Lakeside cottage retreat

"Cabin au Bord du Lac has become our home away from home when we visit our son at MTU . The cottage is cozy, comfortable and clean. We love being lakeside and delight in the ever changing scenery that comes with the season changes. The sunrises are wonderful. We very much appreciate having a kitchen so we can cook for our selves and create meals to leave behind for our son. it is so much nicer than staying in a hotel and our relaxation quotient is always higher after a visit there. Sharon is a wonderful, generous and kind host who makes sure you have what you need. I highly recommend this as a beautiful landing spot when visiting MTU or exploring the Houghton Hancock area. You'll want to return again and again."

  • Awesome Honeymoon at the Great Escape!

"My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Grand Marais and we stayed at the Great Escape. We absolutely loved everything about it! We loved the location, the cozy atmosphere of the place, and the cleanliness of the cottage when we arrived. Sure, it was pretty chilly during the time we were there (it actually snowed our last full day there!), but we still had a great time looking for Agates on the beach and sitting by the little fireplace, sipping tea and coffee. We definitely plan on returning to the Great Escape (maybe when the weather is a little bit warmer), it is definitely a gem in the beautiful U.P.!"
