  • Wonderful Stay

"We had a very nice stay in Canadian Lakes. The house was nice and a great location next to the lake. My wife loved to go out on the screened in porch each morning with her coffee and enjoy the view. Everything in the house worked well except the coffee maker. We couldn't get it to work and just bought one at the hardware store...no big deal. There is a queen size mattress in the large bedroom in the basement, but the bed frame is for a full size bed...recommend you get a queen size frame. No issues with the other two bedrooms in the basement. The bedroom on the main floor was very nice and comfortable. Thanks for a nice stay!"

  • The Perfect Getaway

"We rented the cottage for three days in October to relax and it was everything we expected and more! Between the overview on this site and the email conversations with Bethany, we were completely satisfied with our experience! It was immediately evident that the cottage was cared for. Everything was clean and looked fresh, even though we know guests had left not long before we got there. The amount of care that went into making the guest experience great was amazing - there was nothing we looked for that we couldn't find! The accurate description of the cottage proves the attention to detail that the owners have, and the binders and other area info on the tables were more than sufficient to fill a week's worth of time, let alone three short days. The bedrooms were immaculate, and our son enjoyed sleeping in a bunk bed! We knew the cottage came equipped with a crib and high chair, which gave us more room in the SUV for other fun stuff! Maybe the best part of the trip was simply sitting in the chair facing the lake with the fireplace going just staring at the colors and the silent tranquility absent from our daily lives... We drew a bit of bad luck on the weather, as it rained almost the entire time we were there, but that didn't stop us from exploring the area. The fall colors were absolutely beautiful and we drove through several Amish villages during our day trips. Everyone was so friendly and helpful... we really didn't want to go home! We had dinner Monday night down the street at Antler's, and the "build your own mac-n-cheese" coupled with a Michigan-brewed beer hit the spot! Wednesday night included a stop at the Corner Sweet Shop for sandwiches and ice cream, but otherwise we ate our meals in the cottage. There is a grocery store extremely close for most everything you need, and you can find a Meijer, Walmart, and other stores in Big Rapids, which is less than a half hour away. The cottage is fully-equipped to handle any meal regardless of size. There isn't enough room here to describe all the positives with renting this cottage, but the icing on the cake was the attentiveness of Bethany! We really appreciate how pleasant and helpful she was, even answering a question by email during our stay! We would most certainly recommend the cottage for anyone looking for a beautiful view from a place that has everything you need, while having more than enough activities to keep everyone as busy as they want to be! We'll be back!"

  • Great condition

"Located in central Michigan it offers a great area to travel for day trips. We went to Lansing, Grand Rapids and Mount Pleasant and home that eve. The area is a bit remote but very close to several great golf course's and many lakes. The property is older but has been completely remodeled and is in great condition. The owner is very helpful and will work with you to make your trip a good experience. With a bath and bedroom on each floor it's a great couples choice."

  • A Dream Vacation

"Our family spent two weeks at the cottage this summer. What a wonderful time we had with our two sons who were able to visit for one of the weeks. Lake Laura is just what we were looking for. The quiet, the beautiful sunsets and relaxation was just what we wanted for our vacation. We must say this is one of the best vacations we have had in a long time. We are from Florida where the summers can be very hot and muggy. We appreciated the cooler temps in Michigan. We had such a good time, we plan to come back next year for a month. Thank you for sharing your summer home with us."
