  • Great place to stay!

"My husband and I loved this place! The description is accurate, and the owners are very helpful. I had several questions via email before our stay which where promptly answered. The property was clean and well maintained. The pontoon boat was a lot nicer than we expected. The bathroom is huge. It was a little chilly when we went, and there were space heaters in both bedrooms in addition to the main heating, so we were nice and warm at night. There was also a heating blanket in the main bedroom as well as lots of extra blankets. As far as the property itself, you couldn't ask for a better view. It was great to wake up in the morning and see the lake. My husband (the fisherman) absolutely loves Bass Lake. Due to the time of year (after Labor Day) we mostly had the lake to ourselves all week. I highly recommend this property, and we plan on going back sometime!"

  • Our stay July-september 2013

"We stayed at the house for about 6 weeks, July through Sept 2013,and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. First the owners were very, helpful, friendly and met us when we first arrived. They covered things that we needed to know about the house and the surrounding area. It was a good indoctrination. The house was immaculate when we arrived and provided everything we needed for our six week stay. While there we enjoyed frequent walks to the channel and beach which were just a few minutes away. Fishing was doable off the channel wall and the beaches were still beautiful, just the way we remembered them. While walking to and from the channel, we were amazed at all the wildlife that we saw including a great number of deer. We also saw deer all the time in the front and back yards of the house. The back yard worked out great for us with the fire pit and the use of the grill. We had our local families over for a Labor Day cookout and it was perfect. As a bike rider I enjoyed riding the roads nearby. A good ride was a ride up to Montague to the Hart-Montague bike trail trailhead.(Ice Cream store). The Hart-Montague trail is 22 miles one-way from the trailhead and the trailhead is about 5 miles from the house. A good ride for me was to ride from the house to the trailhead (ice cream) then to just north of New Era (Ice Cream store), and then back via the same trail (and ice cream stores). We used the house for our headquarters and branched out with visits (among others) to Mackinac Island, Niagra Falls, and the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum and the Meyer Gardens in Grand Rapids. The location of the house was ideal for all these jaunts. We were told that the house had no cable or wireless internet access and could only get some TV channels on-the-air. However, this presented no problems for us as we were able to access the internet through the 3g/4g on our tablets and phones. We were pleasantly surprised at the TV reception. We were able to watch up to 33 different TV channels depending upon the strength of the different signals due to the daily weather conditions. We really enjoyed our stay in the house and plan to return in the future"

  • Great Place!!!

"Stayed here July 2011. Great set-up. Plenty of room for our group of 9.Several seating areas right on the river, even firepit, very peaceful, Nice!! The"banjo" song playing downstream our first day, sure gave us shits&giggles! 3- season porch is great for card playing, enjoying the morning breakfast or just doing nothing.1hour trip to pine river for kayaking, great time as usual. Rented pontoon on hardy dam pond(half hour away) 22 miles of boating,3 thousand acres, mostly all forested sides, beautiful. Nice and roomy interier, clean place in paradise. Good grub at the resteurant/bar in Hesperia. And even better grub off the brick BBQ at the lodge. Rosemary was easy to deal with and I would recomend this place to all. Great value for your money and Thanks again Rosemary, for helping make a 30 year High School Reunion get-together a very enjoyable and relaxing time. Al, Lincoln Park, MI"

  • Great place!

"We had a great time during our stay at the Owl's Perch. The house was spacious and incredibly clean. It was a quick walk to the beach, pier, and lighthouse. I would highly recommend this house to any family. It easily accommodates up to fourteen people."
