"My son and I and my grandchildren ages 3 and 6 spent a delightful weekend at this house. As noted in other reviews the house is really comfortable and clean with modern appliances; we liked sitting on the front porch, looking across to the lake. Swimming in Lake Michigan was a highlight- clean , shallow water - perfect for kids. The farmers market on Saturday was a delight. Only thing missing: no bikes in garage as listed!"

  • In our view, The View is perfect

"Celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary by enjoying a wonderful stay at The View. We loved waking up to the beautiful view of Lake Michigan and found we were lingering with another cup of coffee before heading out to explore. The attention to guests comfort and needs in this inviting and spacious home is excellent. There are many places to sit, eat, play games, watch TV, read in this well appointed home. The kitchen is so well equipped and situated (part of main living area which gives you the Lake Michigan view) that I found myself cooking! If we had family or friends with us I would be able to prepare food and never loose out on the fun. We enjoyed the outdoor shower (specifically my husband), the views from every room, proximity to the beach, and private location. The location of The View is ideal. We walked the sandy beach both directions, picnicked and lounged in the chairs provided. One evening we relaxed on the deck of the home and enjoyed the woods which The View is tucked into. If you want side trips to great shopping and dining two towns are nearby - Grand Haven to the north and Holland to the south. Our hosts' restaurant recommendations were great. Next time we are bringing our bikes to travel the extensive trail which is another option for exploring. We had such a good time it was hard to leave. In our view The View is perfect!"

  • A wonderful place to get away from it all!

"My husband and I had a great time in this delightful cottage! It's small, but not too small - the perfect size for just the two of us and our little dog. It's very well maintained and clean. We had lots of privacy, too. We practically had the beach to ourselves the whole time. There were a few people on the weekend, but during the week I took a very long walk on the beach all by myself and I didn't see another person the whole time. The beach is beautiful and we did go swimming on sunny days even though the water was cold! My husband enjoyed playing golf at a couple nearby courses and we had fun going to Muskegon State Park (just a few miles down the road) for hikes in the woods. In late September the sun sets by 7:30 but we managed to enjoy the evenings watching movies on the DVD player. There are plenty of restaurants within a 20 minute drive if you don't feel like cooking, but the kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal. My only issue with the cottage was the sliding screen door was a bit difficult to slide and the screen was just starting to rip along the edge - there are a lot of mosquitos so intact screens are essential! Remember to pack the bug spray if you plan to spend any amount of time in the woods - the breezes on the beach blow all the bugs away! The steps to the beach are pretty steep so they might be difficult for an elderly or really out of shape person. I will definitely consider returning to this lovely, cozy, clean, pet-friendly cottage!"

  • Beware they kept the entire security deposit for being Messy

"Very beautiful spot, house is well stocked and comfortable. Deck is awesome. We did leave it a bit messy, as I ran out of tidy up time and let my kids do the basement! Mistake, I ran through last thing and grabbed left behind items and made sure there was no garbage, but didn't fold up bedding etc. We couldn't find large trash bags so we left out recycling in paper grocery bags all in one spot and didn't take trash out. So, not an ideal state....but $250???? They kept the whole deposit."
