  • Wonderful weekend away!

"I rented this home with a group of friends (we're in our late 20s) looking for a relaxing weekend away from Chicago. It was a great fit -- plenty of beds for everyone to sleep comfortably, a huge family room and dining room for us all to enjoy time together, a gorgeous sun room for some quiet time, and of course the beautiful lake right in our backyard. Fully stocked with everything we needed (including plenty of fun board games!). The owner was very nice and able to accommodate us even with our very last minute rental request. The location was perfect as well, a quick drive from the best ice fishing spots and the adorable downtown streets of Holland. We had no idea it was such a great town with so many restaurants, breweries, etc. Highly recommended!"

  • Wonderful house!

"What a great house for a big family or extended family! Bedrooms: 5 bedrooms, including the great kids' room, complete with loft. Master bedroom is large and very comfortable! There is a second smaller master bedroom downstairs as well. The other 2 bedrooms both have twin beds. Bathrooms - 4 bathrooms - 2 with showers (one with a wonderful rain shower head) One bathroom has a very nice Jacuzzi, which got a lot of use! Kitchen - the kitchen is very nice; upscale appliances, any dish, pot pan, utensil, etc. that you can think of. A nice table that holds around 7-8 people comfortably plus some bar stools by the counter. The kitchen opens into the... Dining Room - large table that holds 12 people. A must for a large family vacation. Fireplace. Living room - comfortable with large tv and gaming system. Fireplace in living room. 2 large couches, perfect for chatting or playing games on the coffee table. Upstairs family room area - we loved this room!! Books and games, just a great casual area, has window seat that easily accommodates 2 adults, with their tea and books. Also has two comfortable chairs for sitting as well. A nice place to be by yourself but because it's right above the living room, you still feel like you are part of the "action." Beach - the beach is wonderful! There were 4-5 beach chairs in the living room closet. We loved the "singing sand" of Lake Michigan and what a nice beach to just relax and enjoy the view. The water temps were very cold, but that didn't stop my 12 yo from going in. The sand is very soft and the views are beautiful. The Castle - small lending library open to guests. Plus it's a Castle, how cool is that? A nice walk from the house. The house is not close to any other homes, which gives you great views and a lot of privacy. The owner will email you a large document of directions, instructions, etc. Any question we had about anything that week was answered in there. Especially pay attention to the directions; it's a little tricky at the end and her directions were invaluable. Do NOT plan to arrive after dark; you don't want to be driving that road for the first time at night. The owner was also very responsive throughout the whole process. If we were ever back in the area we would love to come back!"

  • Relaxing weekend at King's Cottage!

"What a wonderful place to relax for the weekend! I met my sisters and there husbands at the cottage for the weekend, and we did what we love to do...talk, eat, and sight see. I would recommend King's cottage for anyone that would love to just relax and recharge. There is a lot to do in the area, and more then we could do in one weekend. The owner keeps you informed, and makes the check in process easy. If you get the chance I would recommend Pipers Restaurant...great food!"
