"My husband and I rented "The View" with our best friends for a long weekend getaway. After finding the property on Home Away, the reviews were fantastic but there weren't many pictures which made me somewhat nervous. The minute we walked in the door, I realized there was absolutely no reason for worry. The home is absolutely beautiful- we were able to relax and enjoy the incredible view of the lake and the fall foliage from the entire main living area which was incredibly welcoming and comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed and comfortable as well. The master bedroom is amazing with a view I wish I could wake up to every morning.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the location is prime to visit all the nearby towns. We spent one day in Grand Haven, the next in Sagautuck, and the next in Holland. But we were close enough to each that we could easily go to any of the three for dinner in the evening. Linda and Jim's recommendation of 8th Street Grille in Holland was fantastic- we visited twice during our stay.
The owners were friendly and accommodating, responding quickly to any questions.
The View was truly an amazing place to get away and relax, unwind, and recharge in a beautiful setting."

"We loved and enjoyed a lot the great location, the lovely backyard, the well-equipped kitchen and the cozy decoration. We parked the car for our entire stay and did everything by foot or bike. We went to see the musical fountain several times, but also enjoyed the music from the backyard several times. The children loved the bunkhouse. The only inconvenience is going to the bathroom at night, but still a lot easier than when tent camping. It is a very charming old home. The original state of the home was kept whenever possible, but it also offers the comfort of the modern world. For instance the beds are old style (which reminds me of my grandmas bed and perfectly fit the style of the house, but the mattresses and pillows were very comfortable and almost new. The shower was very nice and the kitchen has all necessary appliances and is very spacious. The decorator managed to do a great job at blending together the old and the new and modern. We walked to the beach almost every day (about 20 min. walk to the main bathhouse of the state park, but closer if you want to stay close to the lighthouse). There are many beautiful bike trails that connect Spring Lake and other neighboring towns. Thank you for an awesome family vacation in Grand Haven!"

"We rented this house for family that couldn't fit in our home. The living space is large, open and inviting. The amenities far surpassed our expectations. Carol is wonderful to deal with and I would rent from them again."

"This year, we decided to do our family reunion/ vacation in MI. We wanted something fun, relaxing and flexible. We had 5 kids between mine, my brother's and my sister's family! Kris was very helpful from the very beginning from booking the cottage to making sure to keep me informed about the property, including an information packet about things to do around the area!
When we arrived at the cottage, it was everything we hoped it would be. There was a very well stocked kitchen (pots/ pans/ place settings for at least 10 ppl, including plastic cups, etc for the kids). The home is obviously well-maintained and cared for. Bed linens, towels are available but you bring your own beach towels. Kris even put out some beach chairs and life jackets for us to use. There's wi-fi and cable TV, which is nice for a quiet night in. During the day, the Mears beach is close by (5min drive and 15-20min walk) and we would spend everyday there if not for many other things to do nearby...Ludington, Silver Lake, sand dunes, canoeing all within 20-30min drive. Pentwater is a great location, great for families! Would come back again and recommend highly to anyone who enjoys sunshine, beaches, and outdoor fun!"
