"Our family lucked onto this dream cottage for our get away and it was everything we wanted and more. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and roomy enough for 4 adults to spread out, but also enjoy being together. We started each day on the deck drinking coffee and looking at Bass Lake. The owners made sure no details were overlooked and were very easy to communicate with. From stocking the home with books, games, videos and music, to the row boat, kayak and fire pit outside, they made it impossible not to enjoy this home. They even clued us in to the best fish dinners around! We highly recommend this cottage and hope to make it back to Bass Lake again very soon."

"Simply idyllic. This was our family's first visit and we hope to return to create more memories. The setting is so peaceful with beautiful creek views. The cottage has lovely furnishings and an artist's and woodworker's touch is everywhere you look. The owners have thought of all the things you'll need in the kitchen and bath, plus cozy reading spots, games, beach chairs, etc. Paddling was awesome and fires on the beach at sunset were the best. Activities can be found a short distance away but it's wonderful to just relax and enjoy this slice of paradise. Aside from the fishing yield, we wouldn't change a thing."

"What a great find! As others have stated the photos don't do it complete justice. The views of the lake from within the house are fantastic! The house was very clean and cozy. We both enjoyed the open floor plan from kitchen to living area for relaxing. One can just sit on the couch and stare out onto the lake enjoying the view through the magnificent windows that cover the entire living room. The bathrooms were spacious and clean. The owner's sister and husband were just as gracious as could be in welcoming us. My husband and I always prefer off-season privacy, so were happy to have the seclusion of the snow and cold as company. Muskegon State Park is just up the pike and made for great walks on the trails with the dogs. It was only a short trip to Grand Haven to enjoy a day of after Thanksgiving shopping as well.
Our only recommendation would be to have a working fireplace. We were a tad disappointed, though I'm sure the bulk of rentals are in the summer when this wouldn't be noticed. And, I'm sure it's a matter of taste, but we found the main bedroom queen bed to be on the far side of needing replacement--a little on the mushy side. We ended up switching to the twin bedded room for a more peaceful night's sleep.
Between the location, cleanliness, accommodation of the owners and price, this is a definite do-over for us!"
