  • A+ Accommodations!

"Our group of 8 settled into this lovely home and were ready to stay the summer! We were so thankful for all of the helpful organizational things that the owner did to make it easy for us. We have stayed at several other places during our 9 year summer trips to Pentwater and this is the best! Especially nice for groups like ours and families. Being close to town and restaurants and a grocery store is an added bonus. Comfortable, clean and very accommodating environment. We'll be back!"

  • Charming and Secluded

"The Sandpiper Cottage is very well appointed and cozy and the location is perfect. The beachfront is gorgeous and uncrowded and it never felt as though we were sharing the space with the owners or guests from the other cottages. We had GORGEOUS views of the sunset and lovely bonfires around the fire pit every night. The photos accurately represent the rooms, the decor and the scenery. The beds are full sized beds, not queens and they do fill up nearly all the space in the bedrooms with no additional floor space for an air mattress. I would recommend the cottage for a party of 4, rather than 6, as the third sleeping area is the roll-out sofa in the living room. The living room is the area shown in the photos and the sofa bed is also the only sofa so it's not ideal for use as a third bedroom all the time. The sofa bed is best for a one-time overnight guest or small children. We had a party of 6 adults and had no problems sharing one bathroom as it is a nice size. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and is laid out well for several people to be working in it at once. This is really a place to spend time in the outdoor spaces and on the private beach, though, as it is very small. It rained one day during our trip and it was hard to share such intimate space with 6 adults, however 2 couples could be completely comfortable. We are a late night group and we were very lucky the neighbors in the Evergreen Cottage never complained. I would recommend larger groups (or potentially loud groups) also reserve the Evergreen Cottage for the additional space and privacy. Loading in groceries is not super easy, but if you are wearing the right shoes the walk is not that bad. There is ample firewood on site for evening camp fires and the garbage and recycling are emptied daily, which is a nice feature as I have stayed at other properties that offered no firewood or trash service. The one thing guests should prepare for is the lack of internet or cell phone service. Although not a rustic cabin, the location IS remote and we had no cell phone or internet service the entire stay. Some cell service could be acquired at the end of the driveway but for most internet usage we had to drive about a half a mile to the Red Rooster Tavern to try to get a signal. Anyone needing to work while on vacation should plan ahead for this. This is a great place to relax and unplug and enjoy the beauty of a Michigan Summer."

  • Perfect Family Vacation

"It is not easy to entertain young teenagers AND stressed- out parents on family vacations. This property had the perfect combination for all of us: 1) Enough privacy. 2) Adventure. The house has special, fun, useful features: loft with the pool table and hideaway bedroom, the spiral stairs, the long boardwalk and a couple of small dune hills to climb to the beach. Incidentally, it was pretty cool for swimming during our week but we still enjoyed the beach every day (and our kids braved the cold water almost daily :). We also found lots of fun activities nearby. 3) Great Wi-Fi. We are just happier if we don't completely unplug. No cell phone service meant we were completely in control of the contact we made with the outside world through internet access and it was ideal. Our guestbook entry read: "We so enjoyed sharing your property. Thank you for your hospitality. I’m not sure how we could have had a better vacation. It is so beautiful here! We highly recommend: Country Dairy in New Era, Jamesport Brewery in Ludington and The Wood Shed bike rental in Mears. Thank you!""

  • September holiday

"Our stay at the Mary Ann Cottage was such a wonderful time for us this past September. The cottage is charming and in the perfect location. We were able to do all the things on our list - including the beach, Lovers Lane, strolling down Washington Ave, walking the pier, visiting familiar places and discovering new - all with great ease from this cottage. The Mary Ann is a great 'home away from home' - comfortable, spacious, with all the amenities we could possibly need - including a yard for our dog - AND the fixin's for S'mores waiting for us on our arrival!! The owner Cory was very helpful during the booking process and most welcoming on our arrival, answering any questions we had and then having a lovely visit with us later during our stay. It was wonderful sharing our stories of Grand Haven. Cory also recommended some great places to check out as we drove to the upper peninsula, which added to the enjoyment of our trip. It was truly a wonderful holiday and the Mary Ann Cottage a location I would recommend highly. We look forward to our next trip to Grand Haven and to staying once again at the Mary Ann Cottage. Thanks for sharing this lovely spot with us!!"
