"If you are looking for a place to really get away from the hustle and bustle of daily living, this is the spot. As you sit at the edge of the property overlook a beautiful valley all you hear are birds chirping, leaves rustling in the breeze as you watch Hawks flying above, As noted there are hiking trails right outside the door. Darby has everything you would need for your stay. If you have kids...well they are in for a treat. Darby recommended a spot with the best pizza ever (there is a wait) and if you didn't know abou the spot, you would never go in to place your order. Beaches in the area are beautiful. I cannot say enough about how accomodating Darby is."

"Our second year at this lovely home! We love the newness of the property and all the extras provided. A nice find just around the corner for my 9 year old baseball fanatic son and I was a little league baseball field! Luckily we always have our bats, balls and gloves with us, and we had daily (sometimes twice a day) impromptu home run derby games on the city owned field! It was a short 1 minute car ride with the equipment, and a convenience store is across the street. They had grocery basics (even got the last frozen garlic bread for Italian night!) without having to go in to town. They also rent tubes for a lazy river type ride down the river from stony lake (access in deep center field of the park) into Lake Michigan."

"We could not have asked for a better Lake Michigan experience. Wonderful view of the lake from the deck and just a short walk to the beach from a quiet, clean cottage. The owner could not have been more accommodating
and obviously takes pride in the property. We walked for miles on the beach (even saw a couple of bald eagles there) and used our canoe on nearby Stony Lake and Silver Lake. Prepare meals in the well equipped kitchen or
choose one of the restaurants close by- you can't go wrong here. We will return!"

"It is not easy to entertain young teenagers AND stressed- out parents on family vacations. This property had the perfect combination for all of us: 1) Enough privacy. 2) Adventure. The house has special, fun, useful features: loft with the pool table and hideaway bedroom, the spiral stairs, the long boardwalk and a couple of small dune hills to climb to the beach. Incidentally, it was pretty cool for swimming during our week but we still enjoyed the beach every day (and our kids braved the cold water almost daily :). We also found lots of fun activities nearby. 3) Great Wi-Fi. We are just happier if we don't completely unplug. No cell phone service meant we were completely in control of the contact we made with the outside world through internet access and it was ideal.
Our guestbook entry read: "We so enjoyed sharing your property. Thank you for your hospitality. I’m not sure how we could have had a better vacation. It is so beautiful here! We highly recommend: Country Dairy in New Era, Jamesport Brewery in Ludington and The Wood Shed bike rental in Mears. Thank you!""
