"The Sandpiper Cottage is very well appointed and cozy and the location is perfect. The beachfront is gorgeous and uncrowded and it never felt as though we were sharing the space with the owners or guests from the other cottages. We had GORGEOUS views of the sunset and lovely bonfires around the fire pit every night.
The photos accurately represent the rooms, the decor and the scenery. The beds are full sized beds, not queens and they do fill up nearly all the space in the bedrooms with no additional floor space for an air mattress. I would recommend the cottage for a party of 4, rather than 6, as the third sleeping area is the roll-out sofa in the living room. The living room is the area shown in the photos and the sofa bed is also the only sofa so it's not ideal for use as a third bedroom all the time. The sofa bed is best for a one-time overnight guest or small children.
We had a party of 6 adults and had no problems sharing one bathroom as it is a nice size. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and is laid out well for several people to be working in it at once. This is really a place to spend time in the outdoor spaces and on the private beach, though, as it is very small. It rained one day during our trip and it was hard to share such intimate space with 6 adults, however 2 couples could be completely comfortable.
We are a late night group and we were very lucky the neighbors in the Evergreen Cottage never complained. I would recommend larger groups (or potentially loud groups) also reserve the Evergreen Cottage for the additional space and privacy. Loading in groceries is not super easy, but if you are wearing the right shoes the walk is not that bad. There is ample firewood on site for evening camp fires and the garbage and recycling are emptied daily, which is a nice feature as I have stayed at other properties that offered no firewood or trash service.
The one thing guests should prepare for is the lack of internet or cell phone service. Although not a rustic cabin, the location IS remote and we had no cell phone or internet service the entire stay. Some cell service could be acquired at the end of the driveway but for most internet usage we had to drive about a half a mile to the Red Rooster Tavern to try to get a signal. Anyone needing to work while on vacation should plan ahead for this.
This is a great place to relax and unplug and enjoy the beauty of a Michigan Summer."

"This cottage and surrounding area was great for our week long getaway. The cottage had ample room and everything we needed to cook all of our meals. It was decorated so nicely, felt very homey. The wash/dryer was super convenient. The kids loved the sandbox out back too. The super warm pool was great for the chillier days and the clubhouse was entertaining too. We loved Silver Lake, which was just a short walk away, the dunes were great to climb and the Bach on the dunes side was beautiful and great for swimming. We went on a dune ride, to a petting zoo, a dairy farm and drove to Pentwater for a day. It's a great place to vacation, we will definitely be coming back. The owner made this experience great!"

"We had a great weekend in this family oriented home with our daughter and her husband and 2 grandchildren, both 3 and under. While the temp was in the 50's and low 60's we couldn't swim, but had the private beach all to ourselves. We recommend taking kids to Tunnel Park, and Holland State park. Don't miss the farmer's market. Shopping downtown is really a pleasure. If we go back for another weekend or a full week vacation we will definitely check on this rental first."

"Celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary by enjoying a wonderful stay at The View. We loved waking up to the beautiful view of Lake Michigan and found we were lingering with another cup of coffee before heading out to explore.
The attention to guests comfort and needs in this inviting and spacious home is excellent. There are many places to sit, eat, play games, watch TV, read in this well appointed home. The kitchen is so well equipped and situated (part of main living area which gives you the Lake Michigan view) that I found myself cooking! If we had family or friends with us I would be able to prepare food and never loose out on the fun. We enjoyed the outdoor shower (specifically my husband), the views from every room, proximity to the beach, and private location.
The location of The View is ideal. We walked the sandy beach both directions, picnicked and lounged in the chairs provided. One evening we relaxed on the deck of the home and enjoyed the woods which The View is tucked into. If you want side trips to great shopping and dining two towns are nearby - Grand Haven to the north and Holland to the south. Our hosts' restaurant recommendations were great. Next time we are bringing our bikes to travel the extensive trail which is another option for exploring.
We had such a good time it was hard to leave. In our view The View is perfect!"
