"We spent a week at Retreat on Rush. It was wonderful. The home is comfortable, cozy, and well appointed. The bunk room was perfect for our 5 grandsons to get to know each other better and talk into the night. We loved the area - small towns, cute shops."

"I am sad to think that someone new is taking our place at this Cabin/Lake Home...It was an amazing week. Lot's of great memories were made. This Lake Home is incredible, so spacious, open to enjoy all's company, but plenty of get-a-way space if need be. I did not come a cross anything I needed in the kitchen that was not available.
The Foosball and bumper pool were a great fill in and was used a lot, then there is the bean bag toss that was also used.
The fire pit is a nice area, the old chairs by the pit were amazingly comfortable and very unique.
The fishing was OK.... we caught Bass, Northern, and walleye. You can catch plenty of pan fish, but never caught any that we considered large enough to keep. We did discover that trolling the shoreline is the way to go...we did catch some nice Bass at the little island right out from the cabin. Leeches and worms were the choice of the week for the fish.... and of course the white twister tails. We did do some night fishing from the dock, caught some nice bull heads and a dog fish, that was all our Grandson was after and he caught one... was nice to watch his happy dance. We were lucky enough to be night fishing during the meteor shower, it was an amazing show, we probably seen 20 shooting objects in the night sky.
The town of Aitkin will have all you need, its about 15 minutes from the cabin. They have a nice grocery store and anything else you would need.
We did go to Bingo at the Legion on Tuesday night (adults only) I won 66.00, had a few drinks...it was fun.
I want to thank the the owners for opening up their great home to us for the week.... it truly was an amazing place.... The Tipton's Cedar Rapids, Iowa"

"We vacationed here last June and liked it so much we came back again. We met at Zorba's for a great lunch before checking in. The house was perfect for 11 of us (3 families). We love the roominess! Everyday we took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent time on the lake on our rented jet ski, a kayak, floaties and seeing the loons. Each night we enjoyed dinner on the deck and then had nightly bonfires. (Love the new fire pit). After checking out we spent time downtown shopping and had pizza at Rafferty's. Sherry was great to work with and we appreciate vacationing at her wonderful cabin."
