Crosby is known for its clear waters with fishing, scuba diving and biking trails in the area. It also has some great restaurants. Deerwood, home of the Summerfest, is the site of the old Railroad Depot and the leaping deer in Elmer Park.

The area is proud of its connection with aviation history and the Charles Lindbergh Historic Site recaptures his 1927 flight across the Atlantic. More history is reenacted at the Historic Log Village in Crosslake where an old schoolhouse and a logger’s shack are both open for visitors. The Minnesota Military Museum at Camp Ripley is a good place to spend a rainy day.

Art lovers will enjoy browsing the Franklin Art Center where more than 30 artists produce everything from stained glass to pottery.

The more adventurous can enjoy a hot air balloon ride over the area, or experience a trip down a simulated mine shaft at Croft Mine Historical Park in Ironton. There are plenty of stables in the area offering outback rides, including one at Pillager, and Blackhoof Ranch, also at Ironton.
