  • Very nice rental

"My wife and I along with another couple stayed at this rental in early August. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. They even filled the fire wood bin and provided lighter fluid, a long lighter and paper for starting the fire. The patio was a grat place to sit even with a fairly busy road close by. The apartment is much larger than it appears in the pictures, was extremely clean and nicely decorated in an "up north" theme. There is a washer / dryer, full-size refridgerator and the big screen TV was very nice. Even things like the bath towels were very high quality. This rental is centrally located in the town and had plenty of off-street parking for our boat and trailer. We thought it was very reasonably priced and a terrific place to stay."

  • Deep Woods Inn

"The cabin location was perfect for finding restaurants, boat rentals, as well as general sight-seeing. We rented a pontoon boat at the Bait Box Marina for a day of fishing. We enjoyed dinners at several near-by restaurants; Bite Grill & Bar with yummy riblets, Maucieri's Italian Restaurant for great spaghetti & meatballs, Riverside Inn for pan fried Walleye, and A-Pine Restaurant for great breakfasts, and comfort food dinners. The cabin is large with lots of space to spread out, plus comfy sofas and chairs. The beds are also very comfortable. It has a great kitchen upstairs with an adjacent deck for easy grilling. The downstairs family room with another kitchen is an added bonus. We fished from the dock and caught pan fish, perch, and rock bass. The cabin is very private with beautiful views of the lake. Tom was great in addressing a small problem we had with the TV. I would recommend "Deep Woods" to family and friends."

  • Great time!

"Had a great time with 5 friends at this beautiful and comfortable property over Memorial Weekend 2014. Owners left us a nice bottle of wine as a welcome gift! Spent a lot of time out doors as the weather was great - the dock and outdoor fire-rings are awesome. The rooms are comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked. It is a small drive into town, about 10-15 minutes, but that keeps the area tranquil and unspoiled. Would love to back sometime soon!"

  • Rustic Retreat stole our hearts

"My mother and I stayed at Haven Lane Cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners explained that it was the first cabin on the lake (built in the 20's) with some nice additions -- screened-in sleeping porch (wish we'd used it more) and a 3 Season porch overlooking the lake. Our favorite parts: daily visits by 14 year old dog, Tucker, view of the lake through the trees, proximity to town- far enough away for seclusion but close enough for an ice cream run, the couch on the 3 Season porch, and the numerous windows that open to catch the breeze and bring in the lapping water and Loon calls. We thought it important that people know it's rustic - this place is for those seeking cozy nostalgia in a vintage Minnesota cabin, and who will embrace mismatching dishes and furniture and a creak in a door or floor. We loved this place for what it was- a step back in time and a respite from the hustle and bustle. We cooked and ate on the porch, snuggled up in blankets and read on rainy days and took day trips to Crosslake and shopped for antiques. Crosslake is very nice and has everything you could need (I forgot all my toiletries and had to restock). It's nice that the owners, Jon and Kate were just next door if we needed anything - casual and friendly owners who didn't mind if we had Tucker stay for a couple hours. :) Many, many thanks for a great stay."
