  • Extraordinary property! Look no further ...

"This lake home is top shelf - the owners have thought of Everything!! The photos don't lie - this home delivers on all levels - location, amenities, comfort, cleanliness, and beauty. Located three hours north of the Twin Cities - it's absolutely perfect for a couples/girlfriends/guys weekend, small group retreat or family getaway. There are four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (Master has a king, two bedrooms have queens, and one bedroom has twin beds). The home theater projection screen is Amazing for watching sports, movies, and concerts - seriously, it's like you're there! The gourmet kitchen is fit for a Top Chef - absolutely everything you need to prepare scrumptious meals and then gather around the table to savor them. Two fireplaces, a pool table, a piano, and a cool loft area that overlooks the main floor. The view is Spectacular - don't miss watching the sunrise over the lake and listening to the loons while sitting around the firepit or on the beach - um, yes, there's even sand! Oh, and tennis courts are right across the street - BOOM! Rob is delightful to deal with - he sincerely wanted to provide us with a fantastic experience. There are a few restaurants in Crosslake if you want to eat out/carry out, and Pequot Lakes is pretty close for shopping excursions, but once we landed - we didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back!!"

  • Rustic Retreat stole our hearts

"My mother and I stayed at Haven Lane Cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners explained that it was the first cabin on the lake (built in the 20's) with some nice additions -- screened-in sleeping porch (wish we'd used it more) and a 3 Season porch overlooking the lake. Our favorite parts: daily visits by 14 year old dog, Tucker, view of the lake through the trees, proximity to town- far enough away for seclusion but close enough for an ice cream run, the couch on the 3 Season porch, and the numerous windows that open to catch the breeze and bring in the lapping water and Loon calls. We thought it important that people know it's rustic - this place is for those seeking cozy nostalgia in a vintage Minnesota cabin, and who will embrace mismatching dishes and furniture and a creak in a door or floor. We loved this place for what it was- a step back in time and a respite from the hustle and bustle. We cooked and ate on the porch, snuggled up in blankets and read on rainy days and took day trips to Crosslake and shopped for antiques. Crosslake is very nice and has everything you could need (I forgot all my toiletries and had to restock). It's nice that the owners, Jon and Kate were just next door if we needed anything - casual and friendly owners who didn't mind if we had Tucker stay for a couple hours. :) Many, many thanks for a great stay."

  • Six years in a row and counting the days to seven

"Our grandsons, 9 and 6, have now enjoyed a family week at "Captain Dick's" each summer in their memory. Family visits in between are filled with memories, stories and speculation about next time. "How far will we swim?" "How many Sunnies will we catch?" "Might we plan on at least two S'more nights around the fire ring at sunset?" This splendid property facilitates the most wonderful vacation experiences and that is a tribute to the owner's attention to hospitality and detail. We also appreciate the peace and tranquility of being on the lake, but away from the road."

Around the lake is a trail for hikers and bikers to discover. At County Road 16, the trail links to the Paul Bunyan Trail. Along the trail are lakes and swimming holes to enjoy. It is great for hikers and rollerbladers as well as biking enthusiasts. The trail links 15 towns within Minnesota, from Brainerd to Bemidji.
