  • Coming Home

"I love coming home to this cabin. We have stayed at Pinecone Cottage for 2 years now and have our 3rd booked already. When Sandy met us at the door to let us in, all I could say was "now I am home." My husband and I had a wonderful time fishing on the lake. It was so quiet and peaceful. Thank you,Tim and Sandy for a terrific place to relax and unwind."

  • Great cabin!

"We had an overflow of family and friends staying with us for the evening. We rented this cabin and they loved it! All the furnishings, linens, dishes were high quality and very clean. They are looking forward to renting it again during the Summer so they can enjoy the water sports and the fantastic views."

  • Fabulous cabin, neighbors too close

"We had such an amazing weekend. We found the cabin to be clean, functional, and really cool. Unfortunately we were too noisy for the neighbors by having 10+ people around the fire pit. The owner was very polite and patient while we got volume under control. With everybody celebrating indoors with windows and doors closed, we had a great time quietly enough. It was a bit of a shame being at a cabin in a beautiful area and staying indoors in nice weather."

  • Oklahoma Gal

"What a wonderful lake home! It was just as lovely as described. We met there for a close family reunion with ages varying from mid-twenties to late 60's, and the property was enjoyed very much by all. Most of us were familiar with the somewhat remote area, and enjoyed the scenic, rustic, peaceful beauty the property and area provided. Use of the kayaks was a big plus for the younger family members. We definitely would recommend this home."

Finding Your Way to Farm Island Lake Vacation Rentals

Farm Island Lake is located in northern Minnesota and is just an hour’s drive from the Twin Cities. Most visitors come from this metropolitan area and simply drive up to the lake. This is the quickest and most convenient way to access the area. Travelers from further afield will fly into Minneapolis St. Paul Airport which services the Twin Cities. The airport hosts frequently scheduled commercial flights from most major North American airlines. On arrival, you can reserve and collect a rental vehicle for the drive up to Farm Island Lake. There are a number of car rental agencies that have offices at the airport. It is probably best to make your reservation in advance so you can ensure they have the right type of vehicle available for your needs. The drive up to the lake is a pleasant one and once you get out of the city metropolitan area, you should not have much traffic.

Activities Available at Farm Island Lake Houses

The favorite pastime at Farm Island Lake is fishing. Because of its abundant and wide variety of fish stock, it attracts enthusiastic anglers from all over the region. Many fishermen come to try their luck at landing a hefty walleye or pike. If you want to find out the best fishing posts in the area, head down to one of the local fishing stores in the nearby town of Aitkin. The lake has some great beaches which are ideal for sunbathing, having a barbecue or enjoying a relaxed afternoon with the family. There are several designated safe swimming areas which are favorite spots for families to spend a sunny afternoon. Quite often, the kids will congregate for a ball game in one of the recreational areas. If you have your own boat, you can launch it at one of the public slips and enjoy a leisurely cruise to some of the lake’s islands.
