  • Beautiful! Pictures don't do it justice!

"We rented the main house and boat house for 4 days while we were in the area for a family wedding. The house is huge! I looked it up on zillow and it's like 7000 sq ft. Immaculate condition. It was much nicer than we were expecting based on pictures. The master bedroom is amazing. They have two of anything you could possibly need in the kitchen. Yard is open and very clean. It was too cold for us to swim, but beach would be perfect for swimming with a nice sandy beach and shallow water for young children to play in. Owners must be super techs because every room has a nice TV set up. I give this 5 stars without hesitation. Frankly I think it's pricing is under the market value of what they could be charging for a place like this. The only cons were that there is a massive deck that is under construction. It's was still very "clean" looking outside even though deck was clearly being built. Also there was a square hole in the basement that had plywood over it in the basement. I think they might have removed an in ground hot tube or something. Anyway, it was the only thing that made the basement seem unfinished. I perceived it as dangerous to walk on because the boards seemed springy and I was a littled worried about someone falling through. Owners are very straight forward and business like in their interactions with you. Lastly, while they didn't charge us for anything, the owners wanted a credit card on file for unlimited damages rather than taking a traditional deposit. I thought this was obsessive, but the owners were very straight forward and responsive to deal with. They don't leave you to wonder about anything. You will know exactly what your responsibilities are and what theirs are. All in all a wonderful experience and beautiful property."

"My family went to stay the weekend at this beautiful cabin. We were so impressed we decided to go back next year. If you are looking for a great place to stay that is not extremely expensive, this is the place! We just loved it!!"

  • Fabulous cabin, neighbors too close

"We had such an amazing weekend. We found the cabin to be clean, functional, and really cool. Unfortunately we were too noisy for the neighbors by having 10+ people around the fire pit. The owner was very polite and patient while we got volume under control. With everybody celebrating indoors with windows and doors closed, we had a great time quietly enough. It was a bit of a shame being at a cabin in a beautiful area and staying indoors in nice weather."

Gull Lake Travel Tips

Reasons to Choose Gull Lake Vacation Rentals

Gull Lake is one of the largest lakes in Minnesota. The surrounding shoreline and woodland has a good selection of cabins and cottages which are ideal for enjoying a quiet vacation. The area is popular with outdoor adventurers, fishing enthusiasts and golfers, and caters admirably for them all. Gull Lake is the largest in a chain of interconnecting lakes, making it possible to explore in a boat for miles. The man-made lake was created by the Gull Lake Dam and is 80 feet deep in places. Altogether, it is 15 miles long and around two miles wide. It is well stocked with bass, panfish, northern pike and walleye.

Beyond the lake, the area has plenty of small towns for shopping and exploring and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in the area. Gull Lake is a quiet area with many vacation homes and cottages scattered along its miles of wooded banks. It is the perfect choice for a relaxing vacation and families can do as they please. Many vacation homes come complete with kayaks and fishing rods as well as chairs to sit out on the porch and enjoy the views.

Although the area has plenty of restaurants, including some accessible by boat, a fully equipped cottage with a kitchen makes catering for the family easy, cheap and convenient. With several bedrooms and bathrooms, it is a civilized way to spend time with kids, family and friends without feeling cramped. Dig out some games and a couple of books and enjoy fun evenings by the fire.
