  • Stormy weather

"OMG we loved this place!! Perfect for the two of us to stay. Wish we had better weather but the screen porch enabled us to not be stuck inside. We spent a whole day out there playing cards and grilling listening to the waves roll in and the rain fall. Such a cozy and comfortable place to stay. Love the checkout time so you can still enjoy pretty much of the day rather than getting out before lunch. We will be back!"

  • Excellent

"The cabin is well maintained (on the historic list), the porch is the best feature with multiple windows to let in a nice breeze and protect you from the crazy mosquitos. Lots of fun games were provided along with new HD televisions and a DVD player. The contact, Carrie, was always helpful and a easy to work with. The cabin offered plenty of sleeping space and amenities (2 fridges, updated appliances, washer/dryer, empty lot next door, huge driveway for parking, and propane grill). This place provided everything needed excluding Wi-Fi internet but you can just use your 3G or 4G. The cabin is perfectly located across the street from a golf course, literally next door to a private boat launch (charged 10 dollars a day but the owner Shelby was very nice and rented us a slip for the same price so we didn’t have to bother taking the boat in and out), and only a couple miles from both the casino and other various bars/restaurants/liquor stores/grocery stores/gas stations. Have absolutely zero complaints with this place and would recommend it to everyone. Just be advised that there is only one bathroom if that is an issue with anyone, it was not for us, and that the lake is huge and can be windy and dangerous so boat use is unpredictable. Overall 5 stars!!!!!"

  • Retired Gals Getaway

"We are a small group of retired women who like to rent cabins or homes where we can spread out and relax while working on puzzles or craft projects. When I saw the pictures from the posting for this cabin, I knew that it would be the perfect place for us and I wasn't wrong. We absolutely loved the views from both decks and spent lots of time on them both in the morning and evening. The home was beautifully decorated and we especially liked the north woods theme. Tim and Daisy were very nice and helpful and responded quickly when we had a technical challenge with the TV. We enjoyed driving around the lake and spent some time walking through Father Hennepin State Park and shopping at the quilt store in Wahkon, but our most favorite time was spent at the cabin. The area is quiet and we saw plenty of birds while sitting on the deck. We look forward to renting this cabin again in the future."

  • Much to do in Minnesota

"I picked this house after many, many searches for the perfect spot. It didn't disappoint. We had 9 adults and 4 children in our group and the house was a great layout. The owners answered many questions that I had leading up to the stay and even took a few pics of area things that we could do. Jet ski rental, canoe, paddle boards, fishing launch and casino night were among the excursions. We met the great neighbors and had fantastic burgers and sandwiches at the small BP gas station. It was so nice to have a washer and dryer and most things that make "home life" easier. The view was breath taking and weather near perfect. Nearby Crosby was a great town to check out and all of the shops that we went to were cute and very friendly staffed. Recommending this to all and wishing we were still there. The only thing that we could have used would have been kitchen towels, I actually had 1 tea towel that I brought and think we left there...and also a low ball glass for grandpa's martini. thanks so much!"
