  • Excellent

"The cabin is well maintained (on the historic list), the porch is the best feature with multiple windows to let in a nice breeze and protect you from the crazy mosquitos. Lots of fun games were provided along with new HD televisions and a DVD player. The contact, Carrie, was always helpful and a easy to work with. The cabin offered plenty of sleeping space and amenities (2 fridges, updated appliances, washer/dryer, empty lot next door, huge driveway for parking, and propane grill). This place provided everything needed excluding Wi-Fi internet but you can just use your 3G or 4G. The cabin is perfectly located across the street from a golf course, literally next door to a private boat launch (charged 10 dollars a day but the owner Shelby was very nice and rented us a slip for the same price so we didn’t have to bother taking the boat in and out), and only a couple miles from both the casino and other various bars/restaurants/liquor stores/grocery stores/gas stations. Have absolutely zero complaints with this place and would recommend it to everyone. Just be advised that there is only one bathroom if that is an issue with anyone, it was not for us, and that the lake is huge and can be windy and dangerous so boat use is unpredictable. Overall 5 stars!!!!!"

  • Beautiful!!

"This cottage was so much more than you would expect from a cottage rental. The pictures definately do not do it justice. Everything was new and high quality and spotless. It had everything you could imagine that you might need, from every kitchen tool needed to make a gourmet meal, to all towels, soap, paper products, gas BBQ, AC, nice outdoor furniture, screened in porch. The cottage is right on the lake with a beautiful yard and a nice walk down the stairs to the lake. We enjoyed the little deck with barstools overlooking the water halfway down to the dock. There are many restaurants, golf courses, etc. within a easy drive. We really enjoyed Spanky's, which is a short drive. Four adults stayed, but there was plenty of room for more guests. We didn't want to leave. Thanks Jackie & Steve for a wonderful stay! Would definately stay again and recommend to friends!"

  • Lake Home on Lake Minnewaska in Glenwood

"The home is right on the lake with fantastic views, and you can even hear the waves when you sleep in the master bedroom overlooking the lake. Everything was clean, plenty of supplies, and a great shower. The home has huge windows and French doors that make it open and bright. We biked on the state trail that goes from Villard to Glenwood past Lake Amelia and Villard Lake, and the new bike trail at Glendalough State Park around Molly Stark Lake and Annie Battle Lake. Both trails are paved and scenic. We enjoyed hiking at the ski hill at the park right in Glenwood. We had a wonderful time, and hope to return to your lovely lake home. Thank you for making it available."

  • A perfect retreat (once again!)

"This was our third (3-night) stay at this fabulous lake home retreat. Once again, everything was sheer perfection for our 3-generation family-of-6. We arrived to the spotless lake home, with a delicious apple pie awaiting us. Each person got their own room (all beds are comfortable), so plenty of personal space, as well as ample shared spaces. There are three levels, with a full bathroom on each, a billiards room--where we compete each night, a screened-in, and an open deck, overlooking the lake. There is an open, airy feel to the home, with lots of natural light streaming in the skylight, and many windows. The stone (gas) fireplace adds a coziness in the mornings and nights. Each day, we spotted (and heard) four loons, and spent time on the water near them, (on a rented kayak, canoe, and pontoon boat). We enjoyed 2 bonfires (s'mores! no mosquitoes!) and experienced (from the front row!) one of northern Minnesota's quickly-passing, dramatic, lightening storms over the lake. My niece delighted in the nearby Wilderness Resort's indoor swimming pool (a short walk; $7/day), and games room. Joel and Shelley are the best hosts you can imagine. So thoughtful and genuine, and they know the area well. They will happily answer any questions you may have about the property, weather, activities in the area, etc."
