  • At the risk of sounding trite ... ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!

"My college roommates and I were celebrating our 60th (yikes) b-day and we wanted a North Shore experience. I'd stayed at Cove Point many times before and love it because it's not too far past Two Harbors but until you're past Two Harbors you don't feel like you're on the North Shore. There are hikes ALL OVER ... spur trail to Superior Hiking Trail, Cove Point, Tettegouche and Split Rock States Parks, etc. The location is fabulous! So is it possible the condo could be even more fabulous? YES IT IS! It is just plain beautiful, well stocked and so comfortable. We had two days of mild sunshine and 15 foot waves pounding the shore on Wed. Love the North Shore. My favorite thing was laying out on the sectional under the window and listening to the waves. Beyond your expectations --- you won't be disappointed!"

  • Remote retreat

"Husband, wife and dog made this remote retreat their headquarters for a two week stay mid-way between Duluth and Two Harbors. It is about 20 minutes to both downtowns from the house. It is remote being several miles off the main highway and then 1 1/2 miles back in the woods. It is very peaceful -- even the river runs quietly at this time of year. The description and photos are accurate and fairly list the amenities. There is lots of room and natural light in the house and we enjoyed sitting on the deck and occassionaly have a meal out there. The configuartion of the bedrooms and bathrooms is a little unusual in that two of the bedrooms (one upstairs and one on lower level) either have to share a bathroom located in another bedroom or share the very nice bathroom on the main floor. However two families with children might not find this cumbersome. Owner Lisa was very responsive to our requests being reachable by cell phone every day of the week. Almost everyday we either drove into Two Harbors at Burlington Bay or the Lighthouse for a swim (the dog) and a walk along the lake shore -- all three of us, or we drove to Brighton Beach just north of Duluth for the same activity. Betty's Pies is just north of TH, the New Scenic Cafe is just down the hill from the house and the tourist activities of Duluth and Canal Park are just a short drive. And if you like old fashioned hardware stores, the True Value in TH is not to be missed -- we bought things from pickled beets and jams to hardware items from the very knowledgeable staff."

  • Fantastic Home, Location, and Owners

"If travel plans take you to Duluth, you'll want to stay at Beach House 3. It's within walking distance to all Canal Park attractions, located on the beach, clean as a whistle, and designed to make the stay comfortable and relaxing. Everything needed to operate on vacation is supplied (and then some!). The owners truly care about their renters and will go out of their way to ensure things are done right. Their availability and willingness to communicate will ensure an enjoyable stay for sure. We also loved the fact the house has been modernized but not at the expensive of its historic character. You'll appreciate that!"

  • Ella's Inn is a winner!

"Ella's Inn is a wonderful eclectic immaculate kept Inn! All rooms are spacious with fresh clean linens on the comfy beds and plenty of towels etc. for a house full! Fully stocked kitchen, was a plus! (Incase you want to cook some or all of meals there) It is only a block and 1/2 from town and makes it easy to walk to and from. Never having to use your car. You can sit and enjoy the flowers on the front stoop, or a shady garden on the side. At night if you aren't pooped from site seeing you can sit by a roaring fire in the back yard. The owners Terry and Lori make you feel right at home and don't care that you and your family are loud when playing games at night! I would stay at Ella's again. I had family that stayed in town and they wished they had reserved a room at Ella's. Thank you Lori and Terry for opening up your home to our family. We had a great time!"
