"My wife and I decided to take our honeymoon in Northern Minnesota. We were excited when we discovered VRBO and realized we wouldn't have to settle with a resort. The cabin was beautiful. It's everything we were looking for inside and out. We found out we over packed soon after we arrived. Everything you need is there. There are plenty of places to hike and remote roads to explore the scenery in your car nearby. Don't bother running from the deer flies....it doesn't work. We didn't catch any fish, so I decided to rid the shoreline of clams. If you like clams, this lake is the spot. The crystal clear water makes hunting and swimming easy and enjoyable. I'm glad we decided to stay at this amazing property, but also kind of wish we didn't. Now we want to live there. Thank you Pam and Charlie. We appreciate you opening your house to us. I made sure to leave it in better condition than when we got there."

"The fishing was great! Our boys even had good luck off the pier with their new lures.
The boat was perfect!
The electricity worked flawlessly (runs on solar and generator).
The cabin looked even better than the pictures. It was beautiful!!! It was so clean when we got there too. I sure did my best to keep it that way (by sweeping a few times during the week to keep the sand out).
The Mine Tour in nearby Soudan was amazing! We took the boys and had a great time learning about The Cadillac of Mines in Soudan. We even came back on the Northern route through the woods!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful vacation home with us. We had a very special time there with our family!"

"This was our second Thanksgiving in a row at this town home and we hope to be back for more. Our family has been enjoying Thanksgivings in Lutsen for over a decade - so we can make an honest comparison - and this is a very nice unit. It's large enough for 3 families to comfortably spend 4 nights together. I'd agree that the main level living room is a bit small for a group as large as the home can sleep - as others have noted - but it's no different than any other unit of this style in the complex, so definitely nothing to be concerned with. In general the home is great, always prepared for our stay and the kitchen definitely allows for anything that you might want to whip up - including Thanksgiving dinner for a large group. The views are absolutely wonderful and the location within the complex is very convenient. Caribou Highlands is our favorite resort close to the hill, and being so close to the ski hill itself is another added perk. Whether you're skiing, hiking, relaxing by a fire or visiting all of the fun spots up and down Highway 61, this is a great place stay. Add to that the owner is very friendly and easy to work with as well, which is yet another perk of renting this town home. We'll be back and you should stay here too if your travel plans are bringing you to the Lutsen/Tofte area."
