"We stayed a week here for a family reunion and it was perfect! Everyone was comfortable and happy in the house. The house had everything we needed and all that we used was in good working condition. Kitchen was nice and clean and had plenty of place settings and cooking utensils, microwave, blender, coffeemaker, etc. The lake is beautiful and we enjoyed stargazing at night from the dock and from the deck. We didn't use the canoes, but did use the kayaks and had a blast paddling around the lake (BYO lifejacket is a good idea, though they did have some). House is on a quiet residential road, only about 10 minutes up the hill from Grand Marais, which is a fun town with restaurants, shops, outfitters, galleries, etc., right on Lake Superior. Overall, a great experience, we would happily return, thanks!"

"My husband and I came to get away for a few days from the Twin Cities to celebrate our first anniversary. Husband said it was the best vacation he's ever had. The property is lovely, very quaint and well kept with a lovely deck and grassy area with shade, a little dock and very pleasant swimming area with a sandy lake bottom. the screened in patio was great for meals and the deck chairs for star gazing. Used the charcoal grill every night for dinner. Lots of quiet beauty on this small lake. Even had some visits from a curious fox. If you want a quiet comfortable getaway, this is it. Can't wait to come back."

"We just spent our 7th year at Stony Point. Whether we are outside or in, we love the breathtaking view of the lake. We spend most of our time either reading and relaxing on the deck or playing Bocce Ball in the yard. We make all of our meals using the well equipped kitchen. We end the evening down on the shore with a cozy fire, listening to the splashing waves on the rocks. The home is very comfortable for our family of 8 adults and 3 little children and we plan to be there again next year."

"We stayed here with several adults and 7 children and had a wonderful time. There are definitely fish to be caught off the dock and swimming to do, though as someone else mentioned water shoes are a must, really almost everywhere around this area as it's mostly rocky shore. The cabin is clean and well stocked; the kitchen in particular has more "stuff" in it than usual, including knives that work and spices/sugar. There isn't much around the area for groceries though, so whatever you want to have with you, you should bring.
We rented a pontoon boat from Pine Point Lodge and the owners Jeff and Cathy were great; they gave us a map marked with all the places to check out including several little beaches that were tucked away and a lot of fun to explore, and were just a couple minute boat ride away when we needed bait (or realized we forgot toothbrushes).
There is another cabin right next door, and if there are people there you will be sharing the dock area with them. Our "neighbors" were very nice, and it's no big deal, but maybe good to know that you will be in close proximity to other people if that cabin is rented.
One other small thing to note; there is Wi-Fi, but when I tried to use it I got a message saying that it had all been used for the month. Obviously one isn't there for the Wi-Fi-, but as I was planning to download my book onto my iPad once I go there, that was kind of a bummer. Take care of any important online tasks before you get there.
The area is remote and really beautiful. Most of the places we went we had to ourselves. We absolutely loved it, and will be back."
