"Me and some friends came here to have a weekend off from reality and we enjoyed every minute of this place! We rented a pontoon, went fishing, cruising, and it was the most satisfying and laid back trip I've ever taken. The house was in terrific shape and was perfect for the value. We are definitely going to consider this place again in the near future !"

"I've been vacationing at this site since 1977, and it never disappoints! I bring groups of family and friends once or twice a year, and am always proud to show them Stille Havet and watch them relax in it. Whether you prefer to sit on the spacious deck and stare at Lake Superior or the night sky, hike the many nearby mountain and river trails, golf at a local course, or shop in Grand Marais -- activities abound for people of all ages to enjoy."

"Great cabin with beautiful views of Lake Superior. The cabin is secluded, yet easy to find with Shawn's directions. It was stocked with plenty of firewood and everything we needed. The loft has great views. We used the wood stove a two mornings when it was cool but the heated floor kept it plenty warm in the evenings.
It wasn't really warm enough to make much use of the screened porch, but it's large and would be a much-used space in warmer weather, including as a sleeping porch. The wrap-around deck was a great place to sit and watch the stars and the big ships headed toward Duluth. One nice surprise about the cabin is realizing that Shawn built it - we really enjoyed the books about cabin building and learning how the place came together.
Our late April visit meant nearly empty state parks - and Tettegouche is an amazing place - and so close. We also did day trips to Temperance River and Cascade state parks. We made great use of the book on the shelf with info about great hikes on the North Shore under three miles!
There is a good sized grocery store five miles away in Silver Bay, so no need to bring a lot of food along, you can get what you need nearby.
All in all a very memorable and enjoyable way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Thanks!"

"This was a great home. We have three boys and there was plenty of space for them to run, swim and relax. We never felt like we were on top of each other. The home has nice extras like spices, baggies and little details so if you forget something you're not up a creek. Some areas could use some updating but everything worked, no tricks, and all of us were very comfortable.
The location of the home is nice as it is a short drive into town and is close to lots of outdoor activities if you want to adventure out for the day. The lake had lots of loons on it and we were able to canoe very close to them going in and out of the bay.
The owner was very nice and easy to work with. She met us there to answer any questions and showed us where everything was at. I am very pleased with the experience and would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone seeking the same."
