"Thank you for a wonderful stay in your home. We traveled with two families and grandma and had a fantastic extended weekend. The house is within blocks of the lift bridge so we enjoyed the coming and going of big ships. Within walking distance to Canal Park and also public beach access which made if very easy to get around with young kids. We had everything we needed to fix meals at home and the house was well equipped with soap and paper products. Everyone had plenty of personal space along with a fantastic great room for us to gather for meals and games. Will definitely recommend."

"This was a great home. We have three boys and there was plenty of space for them to run, swim and relax. We never felt like we were on top of each other. The home has nice extras like spices, baggies and little details so if you forget something you're not up a creek. Some areas could use some updating but everything worked, no tricks, and all of us were very comfortable.
The location of the home is nice as it is a short drive into town and is close to lots of outdoor activities if you want to adventure out for the day. The lake had lots of loons on it and we were able to canoe very close to them going in and out of the bay.
The owner was very nice and easy to work with. She met us there to answer any questions and showed us where everything was at. I am very pleased with the experience and would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone seeking the same."

"If you are looking for a little bit of heaven, where the owners have gone to great lengths to accommodate your every need, look no further. Peace of Pine provides a perfect setting for enjoying the water, sunsets, a cozy fire, or just relaxing with a cup of coffee and a good book. I have stayed in a lot of lake cabins, but this one is my favorite by far. The Gilbertsons make their guests feel most welcome with personal touches, extra amenities, such as use of the pontoon, canoe and paddle boat, as well anticipating those often-forgotten items. There is Big Bang for your buck here... Thank you for sharing Peace of Pine!"

"This property is great for kids. We had 6 kids (ages 1-8) so having the separation from one side of the house to the other worked very well for naps and bedtime. We would close the breezeway doors and be able to play games and laugh at night without having to worry about waking the kids. Heaven knows they needed a good night's rest after playing hard all day in the sun! The property is so close to the water that I could sit on the deck and still watch the kids play in the shallow water. I noticed a couple other reviews mentioned the easy-entry to the water and I couldn't agree more... convenient for the kids and stays shallow far enough for them to go out to the driving platforms on their own. Our family is big enough that we rented the next door cabin as well, which was very nice so we had a nice-sized area of water between the 2 docks to set a perfect physical boundary for the kids to play in safely. My husband fished everyday, which he LOVED, and it was great that he could go in the morning and afternoon for a couple hours without having to be gone all day since it was so convenient to stop back at the cabin as needed. Over the years vacationing here, he has found multiple fishing holes and says one thing he likes about Pokegama is even if it's a windy day, you can still always find a place tucked away to fish because of the size and shape of the lake. The owner's flat-bottomed pontoon in great for fishing with the kids too and it's the kind of fishing that is great for kids... You get a bite most every cast! Downfall is, lot of little ones, but the kids don't care about that. We fish for blue gills. Another plus if the fishing side of things, there is not a lot of traffic! The lake is so huge that we probably just didn't notice other fisherman. Our cabins give us private lake access so we didn't even run in to other tourists which was perfect for our private family getaway! We used the kayaks everyday as well; great bonus.
We keep thinking we should go somewhere else for our family trip, but we continue to love it enough every year that we keep coming back! Why change a good thing I guess! ?"
