"My husband and I just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at McFarland House. It is as advertised and then some. Think
peaceful, well equipped and super clean. Grand Marais and the entire area offer as much activity and adventure as you can
think of. In the back country the leaves were ablaze. We saw bears munching blueberries and 2 moose ambling down The
Grade (check a county map) Hike your shoes off on the many trails off The Gunflint. Visit Canada via the most scenic leg of
the North Shore. Then - return to this cottage, kick off your shoes, have a glass of whatever and a game of cribbage before
you decide which restaurant beckons you to wander down the hill. The queen bed is super comfy and the shower is great.
Linda is available when needed but does not hover - a good combination."

"Our family of four, including two young kids, spent a wonderful week swimming, canoeing, exploring, hanging out, playing cards and having a nightly sauna. We were happy to find real mattresses on the beds (not those thin, flimsy ones) and a fully equipped kitchen. Definitely bring books and games and a desire to completely unwind!
We had a small issue and the owners were more than generous in their solution. All in all, we'd love to return (though with a motor to explore more of the big lake). Definitely recommended."

"I stayed at the Northwoods Retreat for a long weekend with a friend, her 10 year old daughter and my two Border Collies, and I cannot say enough good things about it! Everything was exactly as advertised and exceeded all my expectations. It was comfortable, quiet, peaceful, remote and relaxing. There were plenty of supplies in the cabin and lots of dry wood for our nightly bonfires. The Border Collies and I started every morning off with a jog down the logging road and back then down the road a half mile to Morcom Lake to cool off, followed by a hike in the woods on a 4 wheeler trail there. I never saw a soul, I felt like we had the area all to ourselves. We checked out some other 4 wheeler trails by the cabin and in the State Forest area nearby, and I found several more to check out next time. There were lots of ripe raspberry bushes near the cabin which was an extra treat, and the minimal mosquito population was an unexpected bonus. It was an unusually hot weekend (90 degrees during the day), so we didn't try the sauna, but it sure looked nice. Outside of hiking we spent our days lounging in the yard reading and enjoying the amazing peace and quiet and the beauty of nature around us. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, and I definitely look forward to our next visit very soon!"

"Nice townhome equipped with what you need to enjoy a family vacation So nice that you can use the Caribou Highlands Pools, restaurants, kid's club and mt. activities. Only one drawback was the lower level is freezing so even though it was warm enough to put the AC on, we had to run the heat for the lower level."
