  • Great place to stay

"The cabin was everything we expected and more. The owner was very informative and friendly. We had such a great time and would recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay. It was close enough to town but far enough away to have totally privacy. Would most definitely stay here again. Check it out...you won't be disappointed"

  • Thumbs Up from Arrowhead Region Enthusiasts!

"Jane was very responsive and a wonderful host. She was able to accommodate my brother, dad, and I for a nice long weekend of canoeing, fishing, and hiking on very short notice and we were the last guests of the year before the cabin was winterized. The location served as a great home-base being close to the boundary waters, Gunflint Trail, and Grand Marais. I caught my first brook trout just down the road in the cascade river! The cabin layout was simple and satisfying. We put one of the canoes to good use and there was plenty of gear available for boating and kayaking too. We will definitely keep the cabin in mind on our next trip up north!"

  • Loved this cabin and the owners are awesome.

"We came to Ely from Portland, Oregon for a wedding, and booked this cabin to share with three families. The owners live near Minneapolis/St Paul, so it is managed through a little resort nearby. We arrived and fell in love with the cabin immediately. It has so much space, was tastefully and charmingly decorated, and the layout is perfect. We kept cozy with the fireplace in the main area, and the boys watched football in the four season porch (there's a little fireplace in there too.) It rained for our entire stay, and our girls (1.5 and 3.5) had lots of space to play and stretch out. The kitchen is well stocked, and my mother even baked all of the pies for the wedding in the oven. We loved everything about this place and are looking for an excuse to come back. Thanks for the great hospitality, Jim and Anne! We love Brother Bear Lodge!"

  • Fantastic!!

"My family stayed at this cabin last summer. There were 15 of us and we were all able to stay comfortably with an additional air mattress downstairs. The cabin is spacious, clean, and beautiful inside and out. We have started a family tradition at Burns lake and we all look forward to returning in a couple weeks. Burns Lake cabin is great for kids! They can swim and fish off the dock, run in the yard, go on family hikes (sporting fancy and very exciting compass whistles provided by the cabin owners ), kayak, and see all kinds of wild life. All you need is bug spray, sunscreen, food, and family to have a great time. The lake is also big enough to tube and ski. Fall asleep to the sound of loons instead of other campers at this private and quiet oasis. A great price for the space! NOTE: There are stairs down to the lake so this could be an obstacle for those with disabilities."
