"Gibb's House was amazing. We were immediately impressed at the simple, open concept design and Scandinavian furniture. The house was clean, neat and very comfy. Even the in floor heat was wonderful! The house had everything we needed as we did a combination of cooking and, was very conveniently located to the center part of town so dining out was easily within walking distance. Great location and even a bit of a lake view! The table tennis table was an unexpected bonus so bring your A game!"

"What you see in the pictures is what you'll find when you arrive, everything is just as described. Brian is a great host, concerned to make sure everything is as expected - and Hank (the dog) couldn't be any happier to see new friends. The lake is wonderfully peaceful, clear and beautiful - the most boats we ever saw on the lake when we were out other than our own was a grand total of 3. 80% of the shore-land looks like the BWCA or Canada, very remote & wild. The lake is small, but that means less time spent looking for new spots to fish and less gas to burn.
We saw bald eagles every day, the loons were there to serenade us, we saw beavers and deer as well. While we didn't set any records with our fishing, we always could catch something (bass and northern pike mostly) and the crappie bite was very dependable every evening. The locals that we met that had places on the lake were very friendly and helpful. Little kids would be able to catch panfish off the dock (little ones) all day long without any problem. There's no cell phone service, no TV, and that's all part of what makes this great. It's a short drive into Marcel for essentials, or an easy drive to Grand Rapids to visit a bigger town with the big box stores. The cabin is small, but it doesn't claim to be otherwise, and we found everything clean and orderly, and well stocked with the essentials. If you are looking for a low tech, relaxing vacation - then you'll certainly enjoy your stay. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for what Brian so accurately describes. If you want something fancy, look elsewhere - but if you are looking for an old fashioned retreat you will enjoy your stay."

"My partner and I, and our two dogs, had a great time in this lovely house on Eagle's Nest Lake. We love to hike and took advantage of Bear Head State Park just a few miles from the home, and also explored a number of absolutely amazing trails around Ely--stunning big pines on rocky cliffs beside beautiful frozen lakes. It was so wonderful to come back after a winter hike to this sweet lakeside cabin and enjoy the sauna and then sit by the fireplace. The house has lots of room and is very nicely laid out. There are many large windows for great light and views. The house was clean, well-cared for, nicely decorated, and equipped with everything we needed (including a foosball table!) for a great two week stay. Bruce responded promptly to my questions and was very helpful. We'd highly recommend this comfortable, peaceful spot. And we really appreciate finding such a nice place that allows us to bring our dogs along as they certainly enjoy the hikes at least as much as we do."

"We really enjoyed this Sea Villa unit. It was very clean and comfortable. Our family loved the pool and hot tub, not to mention Lutsen Mountain! The view was fantastic. Also, the unlimited wood for the fireplace was appreciated.
Our only issue was one of the beds in the second bedroom . . . hard for two to sleep here as it was pretty saggy.
Thank you for our great family weekend getaway!"
