  • Fantastic cabin!

"My children and I LOVED this cabin. We all cook and there was plenty of room for us in the kitchen and very nice facilities for cooking. The beds were VERY comfortable. The cabin's location was perfect for us. We could all walk anywhere in town, so didn't need our cars much. We had a fantastic time and loved our stay at Fisherman's Cabin."

  • Relaxing Vacation

"This was a great home. We have three boys and there was plenty of space for them to run, swim and relax. We never felt like we were on top of each other. The home has nice extras like spices, baggies and little details so if you forget something you're not up a creek. Some areas could use some updating but everything worked, no tricks, and all of us were very comfortable. The location of the home is nice as it is a short drive into town and is close to lots of outdoor activities if you want to adventure out for the day. The lake had lots of loons on it and we were able to canoe very close to them going in and out of the bay. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. She met us there to answer any questions and showed us where everything was at. I am very pleased with the experience and would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone seeking the same."

  • Everything as described, a quiet getaway!

"What you see in the pictures is what you'll find when you arrive, everything is just as described. Brian is a great host, concerned to make sure everything is as expected - and Hank (the dog) couldn't be any happier to see new friends. The lake is wonderfully peaceful, clear and beautiful - the most boats we ever saw on the lake when we were out other than our own was a grand total of 3. 80% of the shore-land looks like the BWCA or Canada, very remote & wild. The lake is small, but that means less time spent looking for new spots to fish and less gas to burn. We saw bald eagles every day, the loons were there to serenade us, we saw beavers and deer as well. While we didn't set any records with our fishing, we always could catch something (bass and northern pike mostly) and the crappie bite was very dependable every evening. The locals that we met that had places on the lake were very friendly and helpful. Little kids would be able to catch panfish off the dock (little ones) all day long without any problem. There's no cell phone service, no TV, and that's all part of what makes this great. It's a short drive into Marcel for essentials, or an easy drive to Grand Rapids to visit a bigger town with the big box stores. The cabin is small, but it doesn't claim to be otherwise, and we found everything clean and orderly, and well stocked with the essentials. If you are looking for a low tech, relaxing vacation - then you'll certainly enjoy your stay. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for what Brian so accurately describes. If you want something fancy, look elsewhere - but if you are looking for an old fashioned retreat you will enjoy your stay."

  • Beautiful location with cozy cabin

"My husband and I spent a relaxing 3 nights in this cozy, comfortable cabin. We enjoyed taking our morning coffee just steps to Lake Superior and watching the sun rise over the lake. The weather was beautiful and we hiked a few trails, ate dinner at nearby restaurants and read on the porch. We were almost disappointed it didn't rain so we could hunker down in the cabin and spend a day reading and napping! The only negative was I would have liked to sleep in the loft bedroom but the stairs are steep and we worried about having to climb down during the night! Excellent cabin in every other way."
