"I stayed at the Northwoods Retreat for a long weekend with a friend, her 10 year old daughter and my two Border Collies, and I cannot say enough good things about it! Everything was exactly as advertised and exceeded all my expectations. It was comfortable, quiet, peaceful, remote and relaxing. There were plenty of supplies in the cabin and lots of dry wood for our nightly bonfires. The Border Collies and I started every morning off with a jog down the logging road and back then down the road a half mile to Morcom Lake to cool off, followed by a hike in the woods on a 4 wheeler trail there. I never saw a soul, I felt like we had the area all to ourselves. We checked out some other 4 wheeler trails by the cabin and in the State Forest area nearby, and I found several more to check out next time. There were lots of ripe raspberry bushes near the cabin which was an extra treat, and the minimal mosquito population was an unexpected bonus. It was an unusually hot weekend (90 degrees during the day), so we didn't try the sauna, but it sure looked nice. Outside of hiking we spent our days lounging in the yard reading and enjoying the amazing peace and quiet and the beauty of nature around us. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, and I definitely look forward to our next visit very soon!"

"We stayed at the house for 4 nights in July with our 3 young children. The house was great. It was clean and all the appliances were in working order. The location on the lake was nice and we enjoyed the view from the house and deck every day. It was nice to have morning coffee on the deck, hear the waves during meals and watch the sunset over the lake. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to the north shore."

"This is such a great getaway! Our family loved canoeing and kayaking around Seagull Lake - we were surprised at how many islands it included. We explored new areas each day. Highlights were canoeing to island for picnic, kayaking to public beach nearby to play in the sand. Hiking and picking wild raspberries and blueberries at nearby ChikWauk Nature Center. We were impressed with Seagull Outfitters for add'l kayak rental just across the lake and kids loved canoeing there to get a treat. Home was very comfortable, had everything we needed and more. The screened porch and outdoor porch were much roomier than we expected. Amazing stargazing opportunities. Also enjoyed meal at Gunflint Lodge and others nearby. We were all thrilled to see Mama moose and baby, bald eagles, loons and more. Cabin is quite a distance from town of Grand Marais, but was just the retreat we were looking for. Judy could not have been more helpful. We hope to take advantage of this great cabin again. Amazing family memories."

"My family and I loved the home! very clean and easy access to the lake! The kids had a blast swimming in front of the cabin on the sandy beach and even were able to both catch their first fish off the dock! We had opportunity to rent a pontoon boat from Nevaeh during our stay and had blast on the lake. We boated across the lake to play golf as well as dinner at Zorbaz! All in all is was great vacation, it is the "PERFECT SPOT" and we are already booked to come back next year!"
