"We had a very nice staying at this home on the lake. The three levels were great for three couples and two teenagers; we were able to go off to our separate floors to chill and not feel crowded. The deck was great for playing board games in the afternoon and we used the fire pit at night to wind down. Barb was easy to talk to and very informative about the home and the area. We can't wait to visit again."

"This was a really wonderful place to stay. We loved the lake front view and the great deck. The weather was great so we were out on the deck and the kids could play inside and out. They discovered tadpoles in the pools of water on the rocks and were intrigued with them. The kitchen is great to prepare meals. The competition was on to see who cooks the best meal. We day-tripped to the Gunflint trail where we rented boats and played on the sand beach there. Grand Marais offers a lot with the book store and donut shop and a Ben Franklin and Food Co-op. We like the art galleries and checked out the craft center. We also went to Gooseberry Falls and played in the water and on the rocks. On the way home Lutsen (Alpine Slide and gondola) was a fun stop. We definitely would recommend this home for a lovely vacation."

"I stayed at the Northwoods Retreat for a long weekend with a friend, her 10 year old daughter and my two Border Collies, and I cannot say enough good things about it! Everything was exactly as advertised and exceeded all my expectations. It was comfortable, quiet, peaceful, remote and relaxing. There were plenty of supplies in the cabin and lots of dry wood for our nightly bonfires. The Border Collies and I started every morning off with a jog down the logging road and back then down the road a half mile to Morcom Lake to cool off, followed by a hike in the woods on a 4 wheeler trail there. I never saw a soul, I felt like we had the area all to ourselves. We checked out some other 4 wheeler trails by the cabin and in the State Forest area nearby, and I found several more to check out next time. There were lots of ripe raspberry bushes near the cabin which was an extra treat, and the minimal mosquito population was an unexpected bonus. It was an unusually hot weekend (90 degrees during the day), so we didn't try the sauna, but it sure looked nice. Outside of hiking we spent our days lounging in the yard reading and enjoying the amazing peace and quiet and the beauty of nature around us. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, and I definitely look forward to our next visit very soon!"

"We recently stayed at the Summit Retreat with a large family group for 3 nights. Having never spent time on Lake Superior we did not know what to expect. The Lodge itself was beautiful and easy to find. We were 12 adults and 3 children under the age of 1. There was plenty of room for everyone without feeling cramped. The amenities were clean and well stocked. There is plenty to do within a 30 minute radius. The owner and property manager were also very hospitable. Highly recommend it"
