  • Great Place to Stay!

"Lutsen Lakehouse is for someone who wants more peace and quiet than the resort experience. The accommodations were wonderful and perfect for anyone wanting to ski or snowmobile. The place is meticulously cared for and well appointed. You feel comfortable and at-ease. Everything is there to make a meal, take a sauna, listen to the waves hit the ledge rock, or build a fire after a day on the slopes or trails. The owners and caretakers go out of their way to make sure your stay is as expected, including a couple of check-ins to make sure things were going well for us. The owners take great pride in this beautiful place, so it's for someone willing to treat it as if it were their own. Our stay was invigorating, enjoying the fellowship of friends and family."

  • Comfortable home with everything you need to enjoy your stay in Duluth

"We rented this cottage as a space to gather with our family over the holidays. The home is extremely well designed for family gatherings with 3 nicely sized bedrooms, large living areas, formal dining and a kitchen with everything necessary to prepare meals together. We all appreciated the high quality towels and linens as well as all they"little" touches like lotion and Kleenex in the bathroom. Access to the beach was super easy and all us remarked on how quiet the house was. We frequentuly use vacation rentals when traveling and this cottage had more amenities than the average. I really appreciated that Pat, the owner, stopped by on our first day to touch base and make sure we had everything we needed. Though we were well set, that gesture made us feel that if we had any problems they would be responded to quickly. Thanks for the great stay."

  • End of summer get away

"My husband and I stayed in the Timberdoole cabin. We brought our 17 foot boat. The driveway is pretty steep-we pulled in with the boat on the trailer but we used the neighbors driveway (that connects) to take the boat back up. The public launch is close so that was nice. Fishing was not as good as expected. We did have evenings/mornings of rain the weather cooled pretty quickly that week - so that may have switched the fish off. The cabin was clean and comfortable with modern amenities (gas range, microwave, gas fireplace, Dish TV with limited channels). The bed is a double. The floor plan is very open which is nice. The deck is large and gets afternoon sun, so it's a nice place to soak up some rays. The water in the cabin is MN north hard (rusty) water - so as suggested bring water to drink. The waterfront is soft sloping with sandy bottom. The sandwich cafe in Marcell was nice little break. They're open for breakfast and lunch with a decent selection and have free wi-fi. The grocery store in Big Fork is big enough for all your needs food and a few essential needs. The Plum Tree Antique store in Marcell is quaint and worth the visit."

  • Great location, great cabin, great time!

"Had a wonderful week here. The property was very clean and much larger than expected. The owner and his staff were very helpful and always available to us. The lake is huge and the kids had a great time fishing, wakeboarding and tubing. We also had a good time just cruising the lake. The yard is large and we played several yard games. The nice sandy beach was a perfect place to play and sit around the fire. The cabin is about 2 miles from the Mesabi bike trail and the kids spent a lot of time biking and exploring. Four wheeling trails are also nearby. We saw the open pit mine in nearby Hibbing and explored the area mines and nature. Last but not least, the hot tub on the screened in porch was an amazing way to end each day. This is a little piece of heaven tucked in between 2 decent sized cities, Grand Rapids and Hibbing, which gives you great access to several amenities such as museums, shopping, restaurants and groceries."
