  • Had a great time!

"Just returning to civilization after a PEACEFUL stay at Gabbro cabin. The cabin was everything we thought it would be-----upscale camping! The view is awesome and the lake was beautiful. Only downside was we couldn't get enough fish to jump on our hooks. Thanks for a great experience! Rick and Jane"

  • Good things do indeed come in small packages

"My husband and dog and I spent six days in this beautiful area -- hiking, biking, and kayaking -- and it was wonderful having this little cabin to "come home to" each evening. I enjoyed my coffee in the morning on the dock and we took advantage of the screen porch every evening. Although small, the cabin is ideal for two adults and really had everything we needed. It was very clean and quiet and comfortable. The location was perfect: private, yet within a 15 minute drive of a small store if we needed something. I highly recommend the three-mile hike (or bike or kayak) at Trout Lake into the Joyce Estate -- very interesting! Also, the short Chase Point Trail in Scenic State Park is stunning. Suomi Hills is also great for hiking, but be prepared for some pretty agressive hills. And biking the Mesabi Trail left me wanting to plan another trip to bike the remaining legs (maybe next year)."

  • Relaxing Vacation

"This was a great home. We have three boys and there was plenty of space for them to run, swim and relax. We never felt like we were on top of each other. The home has nice extras like spices, baggies and little details so if you forget something you're not up a creek. Some areas could use some updating but everything worked, no tricks, and all of us were very comfortable. The location of the home is nice as it is a short drive into town and is close to lots of outdoor activities if you want to adventure out for the day. The lake had lots of loons on it and we were able to canoe very close to them going in and out of the bay. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. She met us there to answer any questions and showed us where everything was at. I am very pleased with the experience and would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone seeking the same."

  • beautiful

"My husband and I stayed here with our sisters after our son's wedding. Our sisters were from British Columbia and Georgia, so it was a special reunion time with them....and we needed to impress them with the Midwest! They were suitably impressed both with the scenic location, and the beautiful architecture and decor of the home. The beauty and comfort of the place was the perfect balm for my husband and myself after the hecticness of the wedding. Reservations with Lisa worked seamlessly."
