  • Beautiful cabin, wonderful owner!

"We stayed at the cabin for 3 nights, and it was wonderful! We had a group of 12 women for a girls' weekend. There was plenty of sleeping space (the main cabin has 7 beds, all full or queen, and one king) and three bathrooms! We never felt crowded. The deck/porch area is phenomenal -- we spent so much time out there! It does have a long walk up to the actual cabin, so definitely pack your things and plan to carry them up the outdoor stairs. Another reviewer mentioned that, so I came prepared and packed so I only needed to make a few trips. The owner is so kind, too! He was easy to work with, and flexible with our check-in/out times. I think we'll rent it in the winter again!"

  • Relaxing family getaway

"We just returned from a long weekend at the Cabins at Pike Lake. What a wonderful spot! We traveled with another couple; they stayed in the main cabin with their 2 kids and we stayed in the guest cabin with our 1 child. There was plenty of room for all of us, and it was nice to have our own cabin. We spent the weekend playing in the yard, playing in the main cabin, hanging out by the campfire, fishing off the dock, taking the boats out, and going for walks down the road. The property is beautiful, the lake is clean, clear, with a rock bottom, and the cabins are modern and provide everything you need. It is a very short drive to Grand Marais if you want to go to "town". However we enjoyed being on Pike Lake, you really felt away from it all. There is no cell phone service, which we actually really liked. It forced us to put down our phones and just chat! There is a tv in the main cabin, which was nice for the kids. We spent most of the time outside playing or just sitting by the fire talking. We are already planning to book the property for next summer. For the owners - it would be nice if ALL of the windows in the guest cottage had curtains. The large window to the right of the kitchen had no curtain or blinds, causing us and our child to wake up very early with the light streaming in. Also it would be great to have a kayak to explore the lake with. The screened in porch could use a good cleaning and vacuuming, and additional seating. Those are my only suggestions, everything else was great. What a magical spot! See you summer 2015"
