  • Home away from home

"As soon as you enter the cabin you have a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Vermilion through the floor to ceiling windows. You feel totally relaxed in this home like atmosphere. I like to cook and had no trouble finding what I needed. Great spot on the Lake. Would like to spend another vacation here."

  • Delightful getaway retreat for us as a couple

"My wife & I enjoy getting away for a week (usually booking somewhere via vrbo) while our son goes to summer camp & to visit grandparents afterwards. This summer, we opted to stay at Tettegouche cabin and were exceptionally pleased with our decision. From the start, Shawn & Ed were both quite helpful & informative about their beautiful hilltop log cabin in the woods with a gorgeous view over Lake Superior. While the cabin would be best for small parties (such as couple like ourselves), it has all that one would need to enjoy nature and have a relaxing break from any hustle & bustle. Clearly, Shawn, the designer and builder (with Ed's assistance, we gather) did a beautiful job on the place. I, personally enjoyed meeting and chatting with both of them before they headed off, on the day after our arrival, having been unaware that they were at their other property (invisible to us until I met them by chance as they headed out), from where they were working on their next cabin. They offered wonderful tips on enjoying the area. We had a great time checking out a number of secluded access points nearby to the local shoreline, a variety of local state parks (all with wonderful hiking opportunities), & some of the nearby small towns. We loved enjoying cook-out dinners on the screen porch or on the deck as well as enjoying star-gazing from the skylight window above the loft bed. We never took advantage of the sauna (August stay, after all), but I am sure were the weather cooler during our stay, we would have loved that as well. Thanks Shawn & Ed for such a great time!!!"

  • Super location - close to downtown

"We happened to get lucky and get the last two days they had open for the summer. It's a great location with offstreet parking, generous living space if you wanted to host a gathering (fully stocked kitchen). Brought back lots of memories as I lived two blocks down from the Manor House in the 70's."

  • Exceeded expectations!

"We stayed at the boathouse with a group of friends to fish and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Tony and Matt were super helpful and welcoming and everything went very smoothly with payment, check in etc. The house and facilities are fantastic - a rare occasion where the photos really don't do the property justice! There was plenty of room for all of us and the house is very comfortably furnished. My first VRBO experience and this sets the bar very high!"
